I think it's time we have a thread for this.

This is a gorgeous seed to a new song:

He's become such an incredibly emotive and skilled keyboardist... very excited for his next batch of tunes.

Yeh, this demo and the best stuff on Inspection hints at something pretty cool developing in his style.

Love the idea of an album with lots and lots of piano and then lots of the cool, deep chanty stuff he's been doing under his main vocal lines.

his recent Pantha du Prince remix has me psyched for whatever he does next. I think it's my favorite song of his

These two recent teases are tantalizing … moody and moving. I like em a lot more than the piano improvs he shared last year (last year? Two years ago? Pre-covid?). Or, really, I feel like I can hear layers here that are reminiscent of Sleep Cycle more than just piano ballads.

Yeah that new seed is great. He says "no timeline yet" so I feel like we're still a few years away from any proper release

Feel like his songwriting has grown a lot. Hopefully his confidence has too. Sleep Cycle took forever because of Josh’s head space. I hope he’s feeling good now. He seems to be. Might mean we get the privelege of hearing something sooner.

Another beautiful seed:

Curious how sparse or layered his album will be when all is said and done.

I have a feeling it's gonna be awhile still until the next Deakin album is ready but he can take all the time he needs. it's been really exciting to see him really come into his own as a more confident songwriter and vocalist in recent years

would love a relatively sparse record if he can record the piano really well. just that and a few vocal layers would be beautiful

I think this would be really sweet. Probably the most stripped down AC-related release in a long time right? I still think he should put out an album of piano improvs, his playing has gotten so good.

Bumping this to light a fire under Joshmin. (Kidding.) Pumped to hear his fingerprints on Noah’s newie, but even more psyched for a new Deakin record. “Stride” is one of my favorite AC tunes of late—there’s something so fragile and weird about it. Dude brings such a unique flavor to the band. There’s a live clip of “Bees” in that Brainwashed.com interview from like 20 years ago, where they’re in the back of the van like hostages—the sounds coming from his guitar are just so rad.

Josh, if you’re reading this, please don’t go Kevin Shields on us! (Kidding, again. Here “with bells on” for whatever comes next.)

I love that interview sm. The DYSTW on there sounds so good, one of my favorite recordings of the early version even tho its only a snippet
