What are your favourite Geologist moments in ac's discography?

Have you listened to live in the land of the sky?
Will Geo ever make a solo full length?

Balleen Sample I believe is all him? That's probably my favorite. I wish Prospect Hummer was full length.

His hurdy gurdy playing is also amazing and one of my favorite things about Time Skiffs, especially on Walker.

What are your favourite Geologist moments in ac's discography?: Unsolved Mysteries outro. O'Brien system treats
Have you listened to live in the land of the sky?: Yes, it is very good. Check out the NYC taper boot of him opening for Avey for a very similar set
Will Geo ever make a solo full length?: Details are blurry, Vostok will probably never see the light of day. Interesting artists are full of contradictions. On the one hand he said he doesn't really feel like making music in his off time. On the other he did say he could make music to coral morphologic's coral footage all day. w/r/t putting out any hurdy gurdy stuff he said he's not in a place where he could make something truly his own

lotta Geo love here :')
baleen sample is so good ... really hit me this spring how powerful it is and there was a little while there where it was all i wanted to listen to ...

i think the acoustic KEXP sessions of the CHz stuff is some prime Geo showcase vibe ... it's like Geo "taking a solo" in a really beautiful way ...

i think i said this in another thread but Winter Wonderland outro into Cuckoo is one of the more psychedelic experiences i've had listening to AC ... i feel like there's great Geo stuff all over that record (tho, fwiw, he wasn't the only one using a sampler then so i can't say for sure who's who) ...

also, o'brien system is one of my favorite things on the internet. it's introduced me to so much life-enriching music ... :')

another great Geo moment is when he gets to listen to the aqua mic in the rainforest doc and he just gets very quiet

Where'd he say this? He seems like a busy guy. Always found him to be a pretty interesting dude even outside of the music, he has a lot of cool interests and has been doing amazing harm reduction work via the AC tour and other avenues.

O'Brien System is amazing when I do get a chance to listen, I loved the Pavement episode he did last year.

I thought Baleen Sample was just made by Avey using some of Geo's samples but Geo didn't actually have any involvement?

Also thought I read somewhere that he is working on new solo music with guitar samples. Did someone say that or did I make that up?

Loved the O'Brien System when I used to have a long commute but I haven't listened in a long time. I might say Meeting of the Waters is some of my favorite input from him, probably largely influenced by being able to watch the process a bit in the Earthworks video

Yeah I read something the band members said about Baleen Sample, rather than being 100% Geo it's much closer to 0% lol

Same! Land of Sky is one of my favorite (relatively) recent releases from the AC world.

Meeting Of The Waters is peak Geo because everything he contributes is so clear. Obviously due to the nature of the project - its just the two of them so there is heaps of space for Geo to shine and massively enhance the atmosphere of Avey's songs. Plus the whole Amazon aspect gives his usual manipulated nature sounds thing a boost. It's just as much his moment to shine as Avey's.

He’s opening for Avey in Houston (and probably elsewhere) in October. Super psyched for that!

What do y’all think the chances are he’d have some LitLotS cassettes for sale?

He recently said he was recording a record with guitar loops or something. I wonder if it’ll be some of that

peak geo has gotta be the 06 tours and SJ for me. he was incredibly expressive with the volume knob controls, particularly on safer and cuckoo.
