Hi, I’m kind of new to the forum and all, but I’ve got a bit of a strange inquiry.

I’m currently searching for the full-hour broadcast of the Resonance FM Clear Spot that includes my favourite recording of all time:
“Always You”.
Yeah, I know—it’s a little niche, but stick with me if you find this interesting. And heads up, this is a bit rambly—apologies in advance!
Some background:
It’s probably the song that’s had the biggest impact on my life, and lately, I’ve been trying to find a longer bootleg of the session it came from.
Back in August/September, I edited the RYM page for the bootleg, but due to RYM’s strange and arbitrary bootlegging rules, the mods deleted it after noticing my corrections.
Since then, I’ve been trying to track down the full hour of the radio show. I intended to add it to the database—hopefully with an interview segment or whatever else might be included—so it could qualify as a proper bootleg. That way, it could be logged again (it was deleted because RYM has some really strange rules about bootlegging which seems counterintuitive and kind of arbitrary to me. one of these is that RYM doesn’t allow bootlegs of
single songs. completely disregarding length and format).
My own search so far:
(For those unfamiliar: Resonance FM is a non-profit radio station focused on the arts, organized by the London Musicians’ Collective. Clear Spot is a show that, to my knowledge, functions more as a showcase for experimental music and similar content.)
Sometime after that, I reached out to the current CEO of Resonance FM, Peter Lanceley, to see if he had any information or maybe a way to help locate the full broadcast.
We had a good correspondence for about a week before it ended a bit abruptly. He was super kind and helpful, and seemed genuinely interested—but he’s also very busy, so I don’t fault him at all for not continuing to dig into it.
He did mention that, while Resonance does have an archive on tape stored somewhere in
the old office, the most likely place to find the full-hour Clear Spot session would probably be somewhere in the trenches of the internet.
Since talking to him, I’ve mostly made peace with RYM’s rules. I’m now just genuinely interested in whether the full show exists at all. Peter Lanceley mentioned it would likely have been a full hour, probably including an interview. I’m a bit of a sucker for old AnCo interviews—especially since there aren’t that many accessible audio recordings from this period.
This was recorded the day after
Sung Tongs was released, so I’d be really curious to hear what they had to say at the time.
But, as far as I can tell, the internet’s kind of dried up. What’s out there—at least to my knowledge—is just the 16-minute version on the Internet Archive, a few YouTube uploads, and maybe an edited 11-minute version. So my hunt has kind of hit a wall.
Basically, I’m wondering if anyone has more knowledge or leads, or could somehow help with the search for this hidden gem
So far, I’ve tried:
Internet Archive: Has an exhaustive database of Resonance FM shows, but mostly dating from the 2010s onward—almost nothing before that.
Resonance FM: They have a Mixcloud page and something called
Resonance Extra, but again, no coverage before 2014 as far as I’ve seen.
Here’s what Peter Lanceley said in our correspondence:
wrote:
"Our archive pre-2014 is very patchy, and what we do have is mostly on physical tapes at our new building in Central London.
I’d love to find out more about this recording and ideally locate the full-hour show. The time of the broadcast and ideally the presenter of the show will probably hold the key…
I’ll make some enquiries. The internet isn’t turning much up and is probably going to be the most likely place we can find more info."
After that, we kind of stopped talking, as life picked up steam again.
In summary:
Yeah—sorry for the long post. I’m not super familiar with forum etiquette, but if anyone has any information, leads, or even just fragments of knowledge, I’d love to hear it.
It would be an absolute godsend if anyone happened to have the full-hour session—but I know that’s a long shot.
Anyway, thanks for sifting through this ramble!
