i feel like the fact that avey released HQ mothlight recording went a bit under the radar for me because it was released on march 20th 2020, i remember listening to it once or twice and thinking it was awesome and then just forgot about it. i just revisited and that version of uncle donut is so ominous, great version of eyes on eyes too, happy to have that show in good quality. midnight special, sew happy, completely different taken boy

The studio version is when you're fully indocrinated into Uncle Donut's dayglo fantasy cult, rollicking around the Donut Compound in your zebra-stripe adult romper suits without a care in the world, you and the other Donut Acolytes gorging yourself stupid on high-fructose chicken finger goop, as was the Uncle's plan all along. (so pretty much just the music video). In the Mothlight version you've managed to escape the compound, just barely hitched a ride to the nearest airport, and now you're in the terminal desperately trying to get the next plane out of there. Still on a high from the intoxicating fumes of the chicken fingers, but by now it's faded into a paranoid bad trip, you're arguing with the security agents - oh man I gotta get out of here man this place is fucking CRAZY - and as you look around you swear you can see that sinister, sugar-smeared face in the crowd. Are you imagining things, or is that really your erstwhile capturer, cruising down the jetway, moving as fast as he can, out to take you back once again?
