Didn't want to at first, but I caved and decided to try Tets cleaned up version. There are definitely a few moments on the album that I think will be massively improved from having the digital, but overall no regrets.

I had the idea for the meme so I had to do this, completely understand taking the plunge on what's around now! it has been a long wait

Mainly the FF6 part smarts

i listened to it, definitely feel like the official release is still going to have a lot more charm and clarity. cannot wait for my Deluxe LP to arrive.

waiting for HQ digital whenever we get it

where's the 'I want to listen to the freebird but am trapped for the next 7 hours and ready to do a murder' option?

gonna try to punish myself by setting a limit of one listen per day till Friday. I don't wanna get too used to the vinyl rip but still quench the thirst

After listening through the whole AC discography the past few weeks, I'm going on an AC withdrawal until time skiffs is officially released. It's only a few days, but it will make skiffs hit even harder on the first listen.

This wait is tough lol. I'm guessing the "full quality freebird" will end up just being when the official drops on friday

or Thursday depending on your timezone!

I'm on the west coast of the US so usually stuff is available when I wake up on Thursdays

but yea the wait is killing me too. not sure if reading everyone else's positive reactions is helping or making it tougher

ngl, I've been tempted several times but am reassured of my decision whenever someone mentions the dust on the vinyl rip, the increased clarity on the digital WGB, the album feeling fragmented around the singles, etc. really want to hear every detail exactly as AC intended to mix it for the first listen

also I still haven't heard Strung so I'm telling myself if I've made it this far I can keep going for two more days. excitement is at a fever pitch today though

interesting what people value in these things. totally understand and respect your reasoning above. for me though, that first listen is very much about the circumstances (environment, time and place in my life etc.) and the emotional connection (memories of that listen, where I was, what it meant to me etc.).

I usually find that it is more around listen 3 or 4 that I want to lay down with my eyes closed and really take in every little detail I can discover.

That's true... EST for me. I was not expecting We Go Back to come out as a single this week, makes it more painful of a wait imo lol. But I have Friday off so I'll have all day to bask in the album's glory

I realize now that I'm honestly not a first listen guy and I respect the hell out of you who can wait. I'm like, let me hear this through someone's ass so when I hear it in it's full quality it's like getting your sinuses cleared. Interesting different strokes. Not so afraid of a compressed freebird (if so) next album imo. Maybe it's why I love Walker so much and strung I still feel I need to hear more of on Friday and beyond
