Last planned Skiffs dates so what do we reckon we're getting in terms of setlists?
I think maybe one or two new new jams and one or two new oldies. They haven't brought back Grass, Banshee, Fickle, OAH, Pulleys, Piggy or Native Belle from '19/'21 but I don't really think they will (mayyyyybe Grass or Banshee)... I'd also probably rule out anything from Bridge to Quiet, PW era and any more CHz, ODDSAC, MPP or SJ stuff.
Street Flash, Turn Into Something, De Soto, Bat You'll Fly and La Rapet would be my predictions.

I'll be going to the Brighton date. Never thought I'd be seeing them at such a small venue, amazing!

First two and Utrecht. Concert hall will be really interesting as it's seated. Saw Grouper and Cate le Bon there this year
Not expecting any new songs but would be sweet as they'd be a surprise

I'd love to go for a few pints but dormant tinnitus means I can't really go to gigs any more. I haven't had it for a few years but the preceding few years that I did have it were so draining that I'd never risk it coming back.
Serious boring answer but don't want to just seem antisocial

No worries my boy. I have most certainly destroyed my ears over the years. Beginning to notice genuine hearing loss.
Have you ever tried that tinnitus 'hack' thing? With the palms on the back of your head, flicking your fingers onto your skull? Meant to be good

Heard from a friend working at a venue that some dates are cornpilled due to low sales

A friend suggested going to see AC at le grand mix; soon after we realised we already had tix to see Low that day. Now, while Low is on a hot streak and AC not as much, I still felt bad about skipping AC again, and prob the last chance to see Defeat.
Now Low has cornpilled

and tickets for AC are non disponible

Gutted to hear this. I was so looking forward to the Bristol show - bought a ticket as soon as they went on sale back in January, got train reservations and a hotel room and everything - so for the show to be cornpiled so close for reasons as unfair as theese is such a shame. (There's a determined part of me that wants to say fuck it and arrange some kind of replacement meetup/show - find somewhere in Bristol where fans can get together with instruments, jamming or doing covers of AC songs, like with that Sung Tongs fan orchestra from a few years back - but I fear that might be the copium talking)

Was to be my first AC gig as well, in Glasgow. Reads like they haven't sold much tickets. Maybe a festival tour in summer next year perhaps?

Such a bummer, feel for anyone who was looking forward to this, never got to see them during the CHz era and it hurt

oh no yeah, honestly really kinda sad. Fuuuuuuuuck. Seems like we're understanding this as low ticket sales but I mean they're not saying that explicitly (maybe cuz that sounds like blaming fans almost?) seems like its just not great in all sorts of ways right now for touring period.
fuuuuuuuck. hope the bands taking this okay.

Re: low ticket sales it’s definitely just a tough time for touring bands all around. Indie bands like AC get a lot of their sales in week-of or from walk-ups, it would be really hard to determine what ticket outcomes would be, even less than a month out. I think they just looked at their expenses (currently greatly inflated because of tariffs, transport costs, etc.), looked at the number of tickets they’d need to sell to break even, and just cut their losses when that number became unrealistic. Less “we didn’t sell enough tickets” and more “we literally cannot sell enough tickets to cover this.”

This is heartbreaking. Had tickets for all their England dates. This feels like such a defining live era for them, it's absolutely devastating to not be able to witness it. Maybe they'll come over for Skiffs 2 but if not now then why later? Don't see how things will change...

don't know anything about the economics of touring, but if they booked smaller venues that were more appropriately proportional to the lower ticket sales, would it then be profitable?

stronger dollar/weaker euro/pound means they're effectively making less money unless they raise ticket prices

Since we 'opened back up' post-Covid I really have bought a ticket for absolutely everything that was playing in Dublin. In fact I've forgotten about or been unable to make it to about ten shows. Just didn't want to let anything pass me by and to give back to the artist community. Such a shame the arse falls out of it right as AC are coming to town. Feel awful for them.
A lot of people speculating it's due to low ticket sales but I'm not so sure. A lot of shit has gone down since they announced this leg, chiefly the pound tanking, energy prices shooting up, and them having to take a big loss in the US due to covid. The UK leg alone must've become such a headache. What a shame
