Songs:
Paper Forehead
Spider Bit My Lady
What’s On The Road? It’s Shining
Who Knows?
Trikid
This is exciting but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed it doesn't include the full performance. I notice the early Skiffs (and following LP) tracks are missing, perhaps due to copyright or not wanting to mislead fans with early versions? It intrigues me how Sundown With Cecil and Peanut Butter Hearts are absent as well...

Considering they just posted a bunch of rehearsal versions of songs from the next to records, I understand why they wanted to put something different out. Speaking as an AC fan, and for AC fans who stayed away from the boots after initial listens in 2019, the way they personally are rolling out hype for Time Skiffs has been a lot of fun. The Blast sessions, Q&A, Singles, and this have been a really fun way to get me excited from October to February. I don't think they wanted to wait that long from announcement to release, and I personally have appreciated their efforts and treats throughout this process.

What a nice Christmas surprise! I didn't expect this to drop so close before the time skiffs release. I'm actually glad they took out the songs they reworked for the following tours. Hopefully sundown and peanut butter will see the light of day on some Form or another. The songs that are on this release are exactly as they should be. All I wanted was spider, who knows and tri kid in HQ and they delivered!

Nice! Makes me wonder if Peanut Butter Hearts is the last of the 17 tracks that avey mentioned they had in 2019? Unless they just weren’t happy with either performance

I really hope this doesn’t mean we’re never getting the full show…

Yeah, I screwed up. Imma caregiver and can have a lot of downtime that immediately turns to work if the client needs something. Saw this was released, was writing something here and then I needed to help my client and rushed the post. Won't actually watch this till later tonight cause theyre sleeping now.

Could be, the bass loop in peanut butter hearts always sounded like it was out of sync on the bootleg record, to me at least.

There's a reason these songs didn't make either album but it's great they actually went back and did the something with them, that's really cool. I wonder whether when they retire they'll just do a mammoth soundboard dump.

Hey everyone. Wanted to drop a little solstice/holiday/new year joy for you all.
In collaboration with the amazing people at New Orleans Airlift (@neworleans.airlift), we are releasing a video edit of 5 of the songs that we performed in New Orleans at the Music Box Village (@musicbox.village) in 2018. It’s hard to express how much that experience meant to us on both a creative and personal level, but hopefully it is coming through in the sounds we’ve been sharing with you all recently, as well as what is still to come. This is where a lot of the ideas originated and started to take shape. We were blessed by this collaboration and especially by the wonderful musical talents and energy of Helen Gillet (@helengillet), Aurora Nealand (@auroranealand) and Marion Tortorich (@marz_like_the_planet). You can watch the video on YouTube and you can purchase the audio from Bandcamp. We strongly urge you to purchase the audio as all profits between now and 1/23/22 will be given to the three musicians who played with us.
A little to painful to think about, but do y'all think they originally had plans to record the album with any of them if things didn't go the way they did?

This is also implying a studio version of Sundown with Cecil? Am I reading that right?

THE PATH LIVES!!! That was the first video I had with the music box. It was unreal. Then ofc, I heard defeat. Hahaha. With the context of the blast radio demo, Whats on the road its shining sounds amazing and is actually pretty captivating, and you can hear the hisses and snarls of the demo. They paly an amazing part put against the instrumentation of the box and the musicians. Now for the path...

I'm leaning more towards they didn't want a single orphan song awkwardly shoe horned in to the video/boot. Could be wrong though

I think my favorite bit from the video is the part in "what's on the road" where geo is hitting the metal tubes and just stands there for a second like he's thinking "okay, nailed it! Wtf do I do now? Oh, gotta get back and do beeps and boops on my modular, of course!"

I hope they invite the other three musicians that were present to be involved on the album. Sundown with Cecil needs to be on there and Defeat absolutely needs those strings.

^agree with that… i think all of the TS2 songs would sound amazing with the addition of those musicians. and would differentiate it from time skiffs

Agree that Spider Bit My Lady is the highpoint of this selection, what an incredible performance. Sad to think they probably won't ever revisit it, but also knowing them, any future version of it would probably be wildly different. Thankful that we have this version in such good quality. It's already so different from the rest of the Skiffs era songs, way darker and more abstract. I want an entire album of music like this.

Spider Bit My Lady is so good that I forgive avey for the spoken word bit
(joking)
Seriously it really is awesome. like, banshee beat level impact.
So glad to see some footage of this, I hadn't appreciated how full-scale this performance was. And the guest musicians are so good.
DEATH COMESSSSS CALLLLIIIIIIIIIIING
