OK. I am 99% sure that the beginning of Native Belle, right before the drums and everything kicks in is a sample (or just heavily inspired by) from The Shining. At around one hour 43 minutes in, when Wendy is flipping through the papers on the typewriter, you can hear it.

Someone else check this out

Here's the scene I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgMdz2fe0CY, right when the shot comes from behind the wall and behind wendy.

yeah, it sounds like it.

it's not even that surprising though, a bunch of anco's music is probably inspired by the shining.

they mention it in just about every one of their interviews how they love that movie.

Very true, just interesting to hear.

Also, in the beginning I noticed that Jack says, "In covered wagon times".

Whoa, I never made that connection before. He even says that in the car scene, right?

Ya hcti to me is an excersise in silence, tension, and chaos. The shining is a perfect example of that in film form. If anyone is interested there a cool documentary called room 237 about the shining's hidden meanings and wild theories about what Kubrick "was trying to say". I took it all will a grain of salt but it's interesting nevertheless .

there's nothing 2 take with a grain of salt about kubrick's hidden meanings, he meant 2 put everything in there exactly how it is. smh

We'll watch the documentary. People get kinda cray with some of it. Saying the movie is about how Kubrick helped fake the moon landing because room 237 is a cue to the fact it takes 237000 miles to the moon from earth is a little far fetched IMO. Interesting still but you can't believe every theory.

that's a pretty cool fact though, cause changing the room number to 237 from whatever it was in the book was completely arbitrary otherwise.

It was so people wouldn't be too scared to stay in 217 after the movie came out, so they they made it 237 because that room didn't exist.

this has been proven to be a lie
