Without checking lastfm or whatever tracker you might use, could you approximately rank their albums by how many times you've listened to them? If you listened to Bluish a million times but not the rest of the album, that still counts as 1m ÷ 11 for that album (Merriweather).
I was listening to Campfire Songs today and wondered when I last listened and why, given how much I love it. I then wondered how many times I'd listened to albums which I enjoy much less and why.
Feel free to include EPs (I won't) because there are no rules here EXCEPT please rank these records by how many times you think you've spent listening to them. If this thread is as successful as I think it deserves to be, I will do one for bootleg eras. If you want to give an approximate number of hours, please be my guest.
1. MPP (1m hrs) - I waited for it for a long long time and played it to the point I don't really need to any more. There's nothing left for me to discover here. I've barely listened to it in the last five years but there were a couple of years when it was almost the third person in a couple of relationships.
2. Strawberry Jam (0.25m hrs) - I don't know whether this or Feels is my favourite album these days but I think I have probably played this more because there were some song on Feels I wasn't fussed about for years. Every song on SJ has been my favourite song at some point.
3. Feels (0.249 hrs) - Some songs here, DYSTW, BB and LR, I almost played as much as MPP but for a long time I skipped FC, B (Bees) and TIS more often than not. I suspect it will overtake SJ at some point in my life in raw listening frequency so I'll update this ranking if necessary.
4. Spirit (0.1m hrs) - Is this revisionist bullshit? No. April, La Rapet and Alvin alone take this up to fourth but over time, I grew to love every second of this. Full disclosure, I will skip Untitled unless I'm really in the mood.
5. Sung Tongs (0.0999m hrs) - An incredibly close thing here for an album maybe in my top three. Certainly, my second favourite bootleg era (spoiler). I think I love it more as a whole and listen as a whole more than most of their albums, but that means that I haven't caned any individual tracks that much to really haul it further up.
6. Hollinndagain (50k hrs) - Come on, man, this is pure posturing. No. I absolutely adore this record and played I See You Pan and P&F many times a day for about six months. Then I realised how good LD was on here and I ended up falling in love with the whole thing and I regularly play it to this day. It might be my go-to AC album these days. What a record. Golden Age.
7. CHz (20k hrs) - NTB probably makes up half the time I've listened to this album, as well as a generosity of spirit and an ongoing curiosity for how it turned out like it did.
8. Danse (18k hours) - How is this below CHz? I suppose that while the highs are absolutely extraordinary, there's also a fair chunk I find a bit boring. I must be honest. If this were an EP of the best songs, it would be God tier. I will go for it occasionally and love it but it gets a bit flabby in the middle.
9. ODDSAC (12k hrs) - Another one with exceptional highs but a fair bit of chod and the lack of an audio-only release is limiting. For a little while though I totally rinsed this.
10. Campfire Songs (10k hrs) - Ridiculous failing on my part. I suppose although I love this so much, it also requires me to be in a certain space and mood. Still, it's absurd that I've listened to this much less than stuff I like much less. Anyway, I plan to make amends.
Everything else is a footnote. TR I listened to maybe singles figures. Crestone, one hand.
1. mpp? (1k times.) similar to Stan I haven't listened much in past 5ish years, but for a lot of '09 and even '10 and flair ups here and there I listened 2 as a sport so I think it wins based on that
2. sj? (500 times.) this by a slight bit over newer stuff. I just feel like newer stuff always gets favored by me in terms of heavy listening but mpp and sj were huge mainstays for me back int he day
3. chz (400 times.)- uh oh, I can explain. I think I just listened to it a ton in '12 and have had little flare ups with it, almost more than other old ones
4. pw (300 hrs)- sorry. same. I just listen to new things more than old things. im always listening more in the future vs the past.

6. feels 200 hrs of mostly loch raven
7 oddsac- "spun" this a lot in '10 and then beyond that too
8-11. the first 4 (sprit, dans, ark and campfire). these were huge in the months/year AFTER discovering them on SJ and MPP. it was intense listening then but it is SUPER unlikely go back to these vibes. Would almost be too heavy or would be for a very specific scenario.

My first AC record and still the one I’m most addicted to. If I need a pick me up or an energy boost, this is my go to.
2. Feels
My most listened to live era, besides the newest one. An endless supply of happiness
3. Danse Manatee
I will never not find something new to enjoy every time I hear this record. I don’t even hate the living toys anymore
4. Tangerine Reef
My go to ambient album for swimming in before bed
5. Ark
Same thing I said for Danse applies here.
6. Sung Tongs
For a while was my favorite record of all time. I’ve cooled down on it considerably but Probably only because I’ve listened to it to death
7. Merriweather Post Pavilion
I wish I liked this live era more but the album itself is pretty untouchable
8. Spirit
Some songs I rarely return to but otherwise I can throw on Alvin row whenever and still be blown away
9. Centipede Hz
Can be a bit underwhelming at times but I could listen to Moonjock/Today’s Supernatural forever
10. Strawberry Jam
Took a LONG break from this one. Probably just overplayed it too hard as a newbie AC fan. #1 will always be in rotation tho
11. Campfire Songs
Just my least favorite AC album in general. Idk. De Soto De Son is the only song I come back to

Yeah this isn’t best to worst (SJ would be much higher, Reef would be much lower). Idk how to accurately estimate the time I’ve spent listening I just know I can roughly rank them.
