Avey stopped singing after a couple songs, and they cut the set short without playing little fang, the outlaw, strange colores, and modern days e :'(
not lookin good, hope we don't see another mass cancellation like last year

stopped singing as in unable to sing, he apologized to the crowd and they all left the stage.

he sang the first song and sounded fine, then he skipped the chorus of catchy and a sender, then just didn't sing almost all of the other songs. they got halfway through your card and jeremy played an amazing solo, then they stopped.
jeremy was incredible, he plays with such ferocity.

I know, I'm with ya.
I finally got there early enough to get front and center, and the show ends early
They came out firing on all cylinders, sucks it ended so anti-climatically.

takethedeak, I might've been the one right next to you talking with you for most of the show?
Anyways yeah it really sucks, mainly for Avey. Hoping he takes a while off to give his voice some time to heal, seems like he keeps coming back to the microphone too early. Avey's pretty good with giving people the show they deserve though, I've never known AC for being a band that never reschedules a faulty show, I'm sure he'll be back at Brighton and all the other venues eventually.
Initially Avey was cutting his singing off quickly at the beginning of certain songs and it just seemed like a
miscommunication in the band, like he forgot how the song went and when his vocals came in, but eventually he was just passing off most of the singing to Angel, which she handled excellently.
I'm glad they at least made an attempt to get a couple nice jams and solos into the mix at the end, they knew they were nearing the end of that show.

ha! what are the odds? nice talkin to ya though, it's a shame you didn't get a nice show after getting there so early.

Eh, I just hope Avey gets better. I've been right up front for two AC shows, that's more than I could ask for already.

I made a last-minute decision to go last night, and despite the technical difficulties I still enjoyed myself. Loved Dustin Wong, and Angel and Jeremy both sort of saved the show. The solos and jams were great.
Between this and the amount of cornpilling/rescheduling last year, though, it makes me worried for the future.

Oh no! In NY the night before he was hesitating to sing in one of the final songs (can't remember which) and he and Angel were making a lot of eye contact. It looked like he was uncomfortable about something and my first thought was that it was his voice/throat but I was hoping it was just that he forgot the lyrics. Eventually he started singing again and sounded fine but I wonder if that's when it was starting : (

That's exactly what me and ahm ah neet ah noticed. I saw him stop singing and kind of sheepishly smile to Angel, and she looked sad but kept playing. After a couple more songs of jamming they cut the set short. Poor dude.

Honestly I would be OK with Angel taking over lead vocals for the rest of the tour, I think it would be pretty interesting.

Yeah it seems a lot of people at the show and on here are saying stuff like "i'd be fine with Angel singing the whole time/I'd be fine with a no vocals set" which yeah, that would be cool, but I don't think that's at all what Avey and them want to do. They'd probably rather just try to give everyone the show they paid for, or just not do the show that night.
Hopefully it isn't too serious, hopefully they can play their shows in the very near future.

Man, i feel so bad for all the fans on the remainder of the tour. At the same time I feel that Toronto got lucky, and we were treated to a top notch performance from Avey Tare and the Flicks. I wouldn't want anything less than a great show for all the people looking forward to see them in the coming months, and it's probably best that they postpone. On the other hand, perhaps they should continue sans Avey vox? Does Avey really wanna repeat of last year? I'm sure fans would understand. Touring is hard enough of the body, let alone dealing with a voice issue.

Really hope he doesn't pull a Joanna Newsom and has to get polyps removed or something. Dave is such a good guy and I hope his health is ok. I really do.

Not sure how to feel. Having heard yesterdays boot I thought the group was already feeling tired at the very beginning of their tour. Guess it was just him.
