Sung Tongs revamped

Hi, I'm a user of the old forum and I just found out about the new one, looks pretty nice!

Anyways, I am a lover of the work done by bullseye with the revamped versions of Feels and TTG, they are really really amazing!

Now I was thinking, wouldn't it be great to have a revamped version of Sung Tongs? (it's my favourite AnCo album). I'm asking bullseye or anyone who has the ability to do something like that, I would do it myself if I could but unfortunately I have no clue on how to do that kind of stuff...

Who's with me? :phanto:

Ah really? That would be great! Is it like with the transitions and additions they do at the concerts or something like that? I would love to hear it anyway! :D

ah sorry, it's live versions of all the songs...which is actually quite a bit different the studio versions of the songs with live transitions added in, but it's not just like an mp3 compilation. they all transition into one another and are just one long playlist. i'll provide link in a minute when it uploads, but it probably belongs in the live subforum.

there's a live comp, and then a feels, as well as sung tongs live mixtape. versions are from various eras.

hey ghoppa, nice to hear that you like the revamps so much. i never got into any of the sung tons era boots so much, but as fas as i can remember they were either of relatively low sound quality or the songs were way too different from the studio versions to mix them together. so i guess this would end up in a complete mess.

i'd say stick with real slippis live comps, they rule :)

Thanks for the link Slippi! Listening to the live comp of Sung Tongs right now. Not gonna lie, the ending of Mouth Wooed Her is pretty bad, in my opinion. But I absolutely LOVE this version of Good Lovin Outside. And College sounds great!

It's not nearly as impressive as the covers that were created for the other "revamped" compilations, but in case anyone wants to use it, I made this by adjusting the color levels in the Sung Tongs album cover. Just so I could have different artwork in iTunes for the live comp: Image

Oh shit, I had no idea this included Prospect Hummer tunes too! What a pleasant surprise 8-)

EDIT: Who are these assholes laughing during the Prospect Hummer songs? :x

Slippi, any chance you remember where/when this recording of Good Lovin Outside is from?

the droned-out good lovin is from the 2005 BBC session, it's in the bootlegs thread

http://collectedanimals.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=41

btw this whole set is great - it has a nice recording of bonfire, an early, darker version of seal eyeing, and the only recording of what I do

it is a must-have for sure

I'm continually amazed at how impressive these bootlegs are. Each one is like a snapshot of a fleeting moment in AC's constantly-changing world. I'm just glad any of them were recorded at all.

This could be the only version of Good Lovin Outside that existed and I wouldn't even be mad

Agreed with begolag. One of the cooler sessions they did. Another favorite is the 07 one w hey light/doggy is another top one and of course other music session

I Remember Learning How to Dive from the Other Music set is one of my favorite live versions of an AC song.

As much as I love Vashti Bunyan, the live versions of Propect Hummer tunes eclipse the studio versions, for me.

Does anyone know what show the version of Taste (at 45:30) was played at on the Reworked Tracks compilation? I know this is more of a live discussion question but this topic seems more relevant.. Also thank you slippi these are all incredible

I was at that show :) that version of Taste is amazing! It's practically like another artist remixing AnCo.

i think dearest had a "favorite taste" thread a few years back that was great because, more than pretty much any of their songs, there are so many distinguishably different (4, 5 if you count the post MPP radio session take) versions of that song. songs like brosport have slowly and gradually changed over the years, but taste just has a lot of very different versions.

im not familiar with this, whats the difference of a "revamp" and a bootleg? why the songs are not separated?
