hey does anyone know what the original lyrics to reverend green are?

I'm specifically referring to the live 06 versions, like on the helsinki 06 boot

if there's already a relevant forum just let me know, thanks

let me know if you transcribe them! i have old lyrics of MPP on lyricalcollective linked from each song's page and also for Feels (currently unlinked, but accessible via http://lyricalcollective.wikispaces.com/GrassOLD etc) but i never really got started with SJ. i think it's worth doing because fireworks especially had some nice lines

yeah, peacebone has different lines as well

I'll listen back and see what I can trace out
are there any boots with early versions of other strawberry jams like #1?

For #1, check out the Neumos and Recher Theater recordings from 2006. As for the other songs, Derek and Unsolved Mysteries weren't played live until the start of the MPP era and Winter Wonder Land wasn't played live at all.

Here's my best shot. It's mainly that second verse that's different and tricky towards the end. Also, the whole "running child" bit is cut down to just that line.

From one moment to a next
Reading in the papers to know what's best
Sometimes you don't know yourself
Eating loads of vitamins for your health
From one moment to a next
White negativity in the street
Maybe it's the earth, maybe it's the heat
or maybe we're all tired of ways we're dreaming

Now I think it's alright we're together
Now I think it's a riot
Now I think it's the best we've ever played it
Now I think it's a riot
Now I think it's alright to be inhuman
Now I think it's a riot
Now I think it's alright you ever said it
Now I think that's a riot

hey there girl (x4)
a running child (x4)

someone told me it's a mess
a thousand paper indians all depressed
the in's and out's of some girl's chest
will only be your friend if he touches your breasts
from one moment to the next
suddenly the neighbors can do my prayers
I work it out with all these (scares?)
I really like the fever that you like best

Now I think it's alright to be inhuman
Now I think it's a riot
Now I think it's the best you've ever played it
Now I think it's a riot
Now I think it's alright to have a baby
Now I think it's a riot
Now I think it's the best to be inhuman
Now I think it's a riot

hey there girl (x4)
a running child (x4)

for reverend green, forever in green

Here's Fireworks, I love the altered "fireworks" chorus lines:

now it's day
I've been crying
taste the lips on my tongue
I was dreaming of horseshoes
now my cereal it is warm
attractive days in a rubble
like the night from before

I can't walk in a vacuum
I feel ugly I feel my bones
and the trees of this day
cast no shadows on my stride

and it makes me feel tragic
people greet me so polite
"what's the day, what you doing,
how's your mood in that song?"

when it passes right by me, it's behind me
now it's gone
and I can't lift you up
my mind is tied to family beaches I desire
on sacred nights we watch the fireworks ripping handsome faces off
got to find golden lips and almond bulbs
to make me feel that I'm only all I see sometimes

I've been dreaming about birthing
the genie made me under the earth skin
inside of me, he is my bird's man
he spits me out in his surly-blood rivers

All the people life-lurking in dominions of the hot turk dish
when elephants be reaching for our purses
they meet me after the world with shivers

what's the day, what you doing?
ugly thinking on your phone?
we all dance to the shaman
while he's singing you that song

but he can't lift you up cuz his mind is tied
his family beaches that he desires
on sacred nights where we watch the fireworks jerk off some faces
but I know I've got to find golden lips and another child
to make me feel that I'm only all I see sometimes

I know it's been posted all over but I thought the early Purple Bottle lyrics were revealing.
2004 La Fondation BBB:
Mostly the same but at the end --
Crush high, oh is there a pill? then I can keep on eating you and yes I will

'but is there a pill that I can take for needing you?'

who thought it was a good idea to put three cameras on this gig and only release footage of one song?
