Setlists

Alright as a huge gay fan boy, I've noticed that something about the collective that I just have to get off my chest. Here it goes...
So as you guys know, this past tour that the collective did they rarely changed their setlist, and when they did, it would generally be the intro from Also Frightened to Rosie Oh and another mix up someplace else. Other than that, the shows and song orders are pretty identical. Now to me, that bothered me a bit on account that AC were not specifically known to have setlists, rather play the following night differently.
How do you guys feel about this? Did it bother you slightly too, or did you not mind it? Maybe I bitch too much, otherwise, that's the only flaw I've encountered with them. Sorry AC, still love you

I was at the first show in Seattle. I thought it was a sick set!
I guess it would be cool if they changed the setlist up, but I'm fine with what they did.
Maybe they were just really psyched about the set they had.
By the way, was their Seattle show the live debut of Cobwebs? I think it was!

Yeah I checked out some of their recent shows, and it seems like their on their way again ! Good for them. And Cobwebs, totally took me by surprise as the first encore song too. Total curve ball.

Their explanation for the repeating setlists for a while was that it was the only way their sound guy could mix it properly because it was complex and hard to follow.
It's bull if you ask me! Maybe I should apply to be their sound guy.. haha.

Yeah that would make sense on account of they were going through this whole new phase. The stage set up, this tour really seemed to be their most energetic and overall well produced, if you will.

I was so happy!
I felt like a kid in a candy store!

when they came to montreal a few months ago the setlist was similar to lists iv seen online. mostly stuff from Hz since thats what they were touring. i was bothered since i wasn't a huge fan of Hz and Panda Bear was way in the back i had to fight my way to the front so I could gawk at him.
"What would i want sky" encore was the best part of the show.

Dude how about Pulleys? Did anyone else feel like that was at least a 20 minute song? Why can't all their songs be like that... was anybody left mindfucked after that song? Am I asking too many questions?

I have been editing the DC shows today. I have footage of Pulleys from night 3 but got my audio recorder confiscated just as it starts picking up - the audio from the camera is usable but not as clear. I have 9 songs to post from night 2 (tonight). Then I have to start working on night 3.
They played 6 different songs from night 2 to night 3. Which makes me curious what the sets would have been like if they played all 3 nights.
I agree that they should mix up the song selection/set lists for every show because a lot of people will go to multiple shows. And they definitely have the catalog for it.

Yeah I talked to this chick after wards hoping they'd play purple bottle, and what a coincidence, they do shortly after. But that show was freaking spot on.

I kinda thought the whole point of ditching the samplers was so they had more freedom to play the songs differently from night to night. I was kind of bummed out to say the least when I saw they weren't changing the set lists up at all. I will say though that things started getting interesting before they had to start cornpilling shows, so who knows what would have happened if Avey hadn't gotten sick.

It would have been exactly what is happening at the moment. The set list has changed every night for every show this year.
What's going on now is extremely similar to what the live shows were like in summer- late 2009. They'd play the same group of songs every night but in a different order, and sometimes would sub in random songs here and there. But overall, It was always the same 15 or so songs that were prepared for a live show and then they'd pick 12 ish for each set, and play them in a different order each show depending on how they were feeling.

I'm not sure about Alsatian Darn but I'm guessing Scheherazade is listed due to the Pulley's jam usually utilizing that sample (or at least one similar) I think. Maybe they were mixing up Alsatian Darn with I Think I Can since I know they've opened with that at a few shows.

That setlist is kinda weak compared to the summer setlists. But if Alsatian Darn was played then...!!!

To be perfectly honest, the little amount of curveballs or new material being done during these recent shows has made for a disappointing year for boots. But then again, considering the circumstances, I'm sure that the band feels the same way.
The recent Slasher Flicks and PB shows have been exciting, though.

I will be happy with whatever I get. I'm just bitter because I'm sure if they didn't cornpill in March I would have witnessed Bluish live.

Lately it seems like they have mostly been playing CHz songs with some songs from Feels and Fall Be Kind mixed in (and usually brothersport and peacebone). I would usually love this, but I saw them in June and loved their setlist and I'm going to see them again late October and I'm worried it will be pretty much the same setlist. Maybe I'll write an angry letter.

i mean would anyone here actually be excited/willing-to-pay to hear them play material that isn't new at this point? honestly, its absolutely cool if you do and i'd be interested to know -i just can't imagine that'd be an exciting show what-so-ever.

I would much rather hear stuff I already know and love. I don't get many chances to see them and want to be able to be sure I'll like it rather than take a gamble on a show with new material. I'd be stoked to see them either way though.
