Wow that sounded incredible. The bass was nice and fat and the "watery" sounds at the end sounded especially clear, to my ear. I'm really excited to hear this whole record in HQ

the response backing vocal seemed to be mixed lower.. maybe it just seemed different bc i havent heard the freebird in a while??? almost wish it hadnt freebirded so that i could've experienced that first listen live.. shouldnt have peeked i guess :/

expect the unexpected. pb and pk freebirded old mixes (he referenced sharing mixes with panda at the same bit rate as the freebird). #nailedit420

Lol. I know this is most likely a joke, but I think some people actually think it's true

When you listen to a HQ recording after hearing the lower-quality version multiple times, it's pretty easy to convince yourself that you're hearing things you're not hearing just because you think it's supposed to sound different. I can hear a difference for sure but it's the same mix, just sounds ever so slightly clearer and fuller because of the higher quality

its not such a crazy thought that someone got their hands on an early mix of the album and freebirded it??? or that panda decided to make some changes since the freebird???

not having heard it it's probably just the same mix in HQ but also expect the unexpected? idk

someone from panda's camp would have said it was an old mix most likely, odds seem low that they'd want everyone listening to an old mix and thinking it's the real thing

The freebird sounds gray. Sequential Circuits sounded way sweeter than the one of the freebird, as it does the official Boys Latin.

The interview snippet introducing us to the GR was awesome, it all started in El Paso, TX... :boo:

That's really cool, Texas seems like a good scenario for spooky themes like GR (maybe it's because of the movie) even though PBVSGR doesn't sound bleak neither it sounds full-bright, when it comes about 'colors' PBVSGR is in the Goldilox Zone, it has mixed the 'colors' of Person Pitch & Tomboy very well.

PS

Sorry about the very synesthetic comment above, can't help the way my mind tries to explain this genius thing called PBVSGR

sounds slightly different but probably due to The Radio and quality increase. don't think it's a different mix though. neat! :siren:

Mix down any lossless file to 192 and you'll see how everything gets crushed and flattened. There's a reason nobody has stored any digital music in 192 since around 2003. Same mix, just opened up a little. Full-fat flac is going to bump.

Yeah, I think I heard a difference in that Soundcloud rip.

Either way, SC is maybe my fave song on the album so I'm super psyched it was released to the world.

that was great. v much looking forward to the full interview.

did a very quick A B comparison and the radio version has more low end... but i don't think that means it's a different mix necessarily. could be the result of the radio studios equipment...

I've stayed away from the boots and the freebird, so I heard SC for the first time on the program. Great tune! Makes me even more excited about the whole album.

I gotta say this is a really cool marketing campaign. I'm excited even though I've heard all the songs before, but if I hadn't I would be aaaaall over this. Domino really made this a global event, and it's a pretty unique idea too

Most radio stations use their own compression and some even adjust EQ. The radio station I used to work at squashed the music down a whole lot. Tis probably why people think it sounds like a different mix. It's not solely because of the difference in bit-rate.

Does anyone think OG Faces and Jabba have been combined? There hasn't been any word on Faces fate ever since Ms. Pacman took its name.

May be wishful thinking, but we know that all songs are being released in some way or another.

i think they are for sure one song/combined/were always meant to be together..... it is odd that pbear only did the jabba part by itself during the beginning of the recent tour, but i kinda feel safe in assuming they will be together... a 6-7 min banger fest mini-suite perhaps

with popadum and cosplay to make an ep that rivals mr noah even.....

Original faces was recorded since its in the mix ticks.

I could see jabbawocky being its own thing because he played it by itself on the spring tour. The two songs are so vastly different it'd be weird to see them in one track.

19 songs recorded as he said in the Mary Ann Hobbes interview but who knows if it includes the two interludes in the LP

1-13: the LP
14-16: faces in the crowd, untying the knot, this side of paradise
17-19: original faces, jabbawocky, popadum
20? Cosplay

Or alternately:
1-11: the LP
12-14: faces in the crowd, untying the knot, this side of paradise
15-18: original faces, jabbawocky, popadum, cosplay
19?

feel like petek mentioned something about Cosplay being recorded too (hinting that the demo was not going to be the end of it) but we won't know until more songs are announced

I guess 19 could be Preakness, but it'd be weird for that to get rereleased again unless he wants it on something more prominent like an EP as opposed to a cassette tape or a 4 LP box set
