know it's a bit of a stretch because it's kind of old and just very short clips, but does anyone have the little bits of audio from that one off ghengis cohen show avey did?? swore I downloaded it from the Dropbox link someone posted but I can't seem to find it anymore
Sorry for the late reply on this. I couldn't find the audio I put together but I do still have the video clips so I just combined those into a single video.
Thank you again for the genghis cohen stuff!!!
Also I had ZERO clue about this swannatopia set at all!! crazy material reminds me of deerhunter/atlas sound stuff with those vocal loop layerings... incredible! Thank you for sharing!! Not gonna forget to download em this time haha!

I recorded 98% of the Mass MoCa set on an old zoom h1 with no experience making bootlegs. I have it uploaded and I don't know where to post it or how to do this so I'll just link it here? Wav 24bit unedited, my recorder filled up and I missed the last few minutes. Also it was topping out at the beginning so I lowered the input about 7 minutes in so there's a volume change.

just wanted to thank whoever recorded this show. The sound is so beautiful, love listening to this. at the end of whaddit I done Avey goes "thanks a lot, that's sung tongs" how sweet! And tuvin is so good. Never got into that one with the old boots, but love it here.
looking at the op again, I see there's a lot of sung tongs recordings in 2018. anyone got any other favourites?

I think you can hear me doing some minor commenting and major fanboying during this set... lol. Not the only person talking but I made a few exclamations. At least my singing wasn't obnoxious! I see it as practice for my own performances soo...
I must've been right behind the person recording cuz I was right in front of Deakin too. This is just so funny to me

Think so. Its pretty thin but still worth a listen. Great vibe.
The version of Magicians is good fun! Some interesting new sounds, some great Avey screams throw in, and a hilarious mid song pause. They have a few little glitches through the show but the energy is so great that everyone's just having a great time and doesn't care.

whats the best strategy for doing an iPhone recording? going to detroit and happy to have a "boring" time at the show to record. voice notes app? video? something else?

hey i've sorta been putting off bringing this up for a few months but i expect this weekend is gonna be the point i pass mediafire's 50gb storage quota. i can get 1000gb for under 5 bucks a month. i would love it a few people could throw in a couple dollars. PM me if you're interested—it's not going to cost very much in the end.

Perhaps its worth getting all of these recordings up on archive.org instead?

Google Drive folder of Detroit: included in the folder are the voice note recordings from the show (and one video). also just a stitched mp3 of the show as well as the apple garage band project with the voice note recordings.
really hopeful someone more gifted at this shit than me can make this sound like not-garbage, because it was a really, really special night.

this has come up before and i have to admit i've never looked into it much. i don't know what the process is like for uploading and if there are any other requirements. maybe i'll take a look! i hope mediafire isn't going anywhere, but archive.org is pretty much guaranteed not to
i would be comfortable scripting something to automate the upload process, so i'm not super worried about the scale of the work. in fact that makes me kinda excited

Uploading to archive is about as easy as it gets. The worst of it, which could still probably be done without too much effort with like, python, is just making sure the tags/filenames follow the etree standards. Which I'm not even sure is /that/ important of a detail, outside of certainly preserving track order. On top of just forever being accessible through archive.org, it'll also end up populating relisten a bit more, so you can just stream the shows from anywhere. My biggest concern is just having all of these links on a forum which will most certainly go down before mediafire and the internet archive!

Hey All -
I've been listening to a lot of the boots and the Chicago vid (shared above) is by far my favorite for the band's energy and the overall quality of the audio.
I downloaded a .wav of the vid from youtube (https://youtu.be/aSoU_eTUykA) and split it up in Premiere. Here are the split tracks, as WAVs. I didn't know the best way to label them with all the normal info, but they are split and sequenced with song names and they sound stellar.
Here is a wetransfer link to the .zip of the show that'll be live for a week if anyone wants to do any equalizing polish. Whoever recorded this did a really great job. Sorry i'm not more audio savvy, but the files are as uncompressed as I could manage. Enjoy!

I agree that this is probably the best way to keep these shows out there as long as possible.
I recently found some of my original files of shows I've recorded like Deakin in Toronto that I'm going to fix up and upload to the internet archive.
