Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker sounds like visiting a mall in 1999, stopping by the arcade to try out the new VR headset and playing Ridge Racer 3D on a original Playstation. Your home boy Mr Noah is all "bruh... check out these lyrixx eye gots." and you're all "nah homie, play the game" and he just starts singing anyways "you really shouldn't bring dat udduh guiiii..." and I go "hold up, is this about meh?!"

hm, "brickwalled to shit" seems a little harsh to me. Almost as if to say PK & PB put extra compression on the version that freebirded (which is ridiculous).
I can definitely hear the difference between the freebirded version of Boys Latin and the official release, but I wouldn't say it's night and day
nothing to do w/ pete and noah on the freebird quality.
the difference is pretty huge though, dude! The freebird version sounds out of control now, all over the place sonically, echoey, so loud and distorted and things coming over the top where obviously they aren't meant to. All typical things of loudness issues
Official release gets it all under control though.

I guess I should say that I only assumed you attributed it to Pete & Noah because you described it as "brickwalled" which, as I understand, is a form of compression sometimes used when mixing and mastering an album (something that I'd think would be at least overseen by Pete & Noah). But I suppose you mean that it's actually an effect that's caused by the low bitrate of the freebird? Forgive my ignorance of recording/mixing/mastering terminology
To me, the difference isn't that immediately obvious. I'm using Grado SR-80s to listen, which are decent headphones (although not the nicest ones out there by far). It's possible my ears just aren't that good

just flick back and forth between the songs. you don't need good speakers/phones. just look at an equaliser at the difference.
I don't know why some freebirded albums have this loudness out of control sonics problem. i don't know where it comes from, i'm not an expert on it. i'm guessing, whoever freebirded it,ripped some sort of unready copy in a shitty way. the freebird clearly wasn't the final version of the album, mastering wise. someone grabbed it early or something.
maybe sonic can help us with how it got freebirded so early. Maybe from the factory. DAngelo album just came out without freebirding though. it's still possible.

You must be listening to these tracks at ver high volume

!
Those loudness issues your describing only happen to low bitrate played extremely loud.

In many songs of Noah lyrics are the same in different verses. It's interesting - do you copy and paste these same lines after they've been sung once or does Noah sing them every time once again?
good question

Not true at all!
Have you listened to the Spotify release? It's very different waveforms. It's really not unobvious. I'm going to have to take screen shots!

he sings them over each time . it can sound fake if u just use the same line . a good ear spots it .
If theres a duff line , i might swop it out .
But with Noah ?? pretty rare .
hope its goodtimes where u r petek

Yeah, you can hear the difference. Compare it with the vocal outro 'halfway to fully grown...' of Brother Sport, however, which sounds looped. I'd be very very surprised if it weren't.

Thank you Petek! That's cool to know! I just do some songs too, and lyrics are usually 'third verse, same as the first' style. And I always feel it's lame just to copy and paste the vox (but sometimes I am lazy). So I'm definitely not going to do it that way again.

Two things about
this new interview in Crack Magazine:
1) Cool overview of PB's musical evolution, from way back when he first met Deakin all the way up until collaborating with Daft Punk
2)
This appears to be the second promo image from this era of PB to feature the Garden-State-wallpaper-shirt gag. I used Google reverse image search to see if it's been used in any other publications, and Google thought it was an image of a slice of pizza (
see for yourself). Lol

This is the story of a
young woman out for a hike along a coastal tide pool. Her encounter with a sea anemone triggers a phantasmagorical reaction. She meets a man who seems to be in a similar predicament, and together they start a family of sorts.

Its funny because it looks totally androgynous in the finished version but once they show some of the behind the scenes stuff it's obvious it's a girl lol
I don't think it changes much personally, especially since it's very... "Tomboyish"

so it could still be about Noah!
