And who is the moustachio? The toddler on the shoulders feels like a direct reference to Noah's family & tomboy art, is the man Noah's father? His shadow appears to weigh heavily on Noah's music. XX

thought it was a mix of psychedelic Princess Mononoke type stuff and Bjork's Wunderlust video. suuuuper sweet. lolol it was kinda refreshing reading some of the youtube comments, people were into the video and song seeing/hearing it the first time.

right?
and after putting the itunes BL in my freebird I do notice a difference. Mostly what gets cut seems like is the high trinkly stuff. That roar chord has some really detailed little tips of waves that didn't freebird thru, can't wait for Davy Jones and Shadow in HQ.

that was such a wonderful experience. really goes together very well. by far my favourite AC related video ever, could've been a video for a MPP-song , in terms of feels, the art style, that waaaaaaaater. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. great.

I saw the two as a couple and the final scene as a family scene with them holding hands and walking away. But the idea that the guy is Noah seems to make sense too.
anyway yeah wow the art style was great

Someone's explanation on YouTube that actually might make sense (crazy right?): "Beautiful. Just my interpretation but considering the lyrics and themes Noah usually sings about, this feels like a meeting with his father, either in a dream or the afterlife, then coming together at the end with Noah's son."
Sounds reasonable.

huh woah you might be right there.

i like that interpretation that it's him, his dad, and his son though too. but that just might be a gal in reality. i just assumed it was a noah-esque dude, didn't notice the pointy breasts.

but ya now i think it's just like a girl walkin along in the world, meets a guy who's on hard times, something magical happens between them (definite sexual vibes that i tried to downplay at first but there's definite potential there. or they are just having a psychedelic experience.) and suddenly they find that they are on the journey together so to speak and then they discover/give birth to a child

or something

or it could be a bunch of other things, which is one of the great things about it

also.. just my thoughts. I didn't worry too much about the genders or identities of the characters. or even the story. I think the change/transformation aspect is so captivating... and I relate to it a lot. the emotions were so easy to see in the animation, like when the main character went through the initial shock of experiencing change (the sea squirt blobs) he was terrified, but then settled into a resolve, walking steadily through his new life and problems.. and then they subsided. when he found someone else struggling just like he had, and even worse, he dove in to help and rekindled life change in himself - both were thrown into a massive shift but were able to deal with it together, even though relationships cause the most turmoil.

the most somber part for me was when he was sitting at the pool. I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a moment if calm, but to me it felt like emptiness or depression.. which comes easily after a time of change and adjustment. I felt pretty strongly watching that part.

I loved it so much. ahh

I didn't get any direct drug vibes from the video (i.e. the main character actively tripping) aside from the visual aspect being psychadelically influenced.. I don't see it as a part of the plot, at least in my interpretation. just the way that the "change" is drawn and animated seems to come from an influenced place.

As someone currently supporting a partner who's hospitalised under psychiatric care, this video struck a real chord with me. I had my own rough moments earlier this year when I developed tinnitus and hyperacusis - which after six months have gone, thank God - and I was finally looking forward to a more settled life. Plus ca change, alors... The ending made me well up. Beautiful sentiment.

I like to stick with my initial interpretation about the video: Finding solace in a partner. Maybe it's a bit too reductive but that was my gut feeling at first. I really melted when they pulled the child out of the anaomemnemoenemenea plant thing and walked into the sunset.

Here for you Stan. Stay strong. It's cliché, but music has incredible healing power, so I hope it helps you find some respite.

Change and growth has always been a prominent theme in AC & PB's music, so I feel like this album is really a landmark. The video too. And how cool is it that we got to hear PB's own personal interpretation of the video?

I'm feeling very positive about music and life today :negative:

Wait, so how many times has the Grim Reaper struck? only once with the EP right? Then the album will be twice?

Wonder what will be thrice... heard a rumor about some house music mix - hmmmm

...loved the vid...really dig on banshee's interp too...

...the part where the young lad is pulled free towards the end reminded me of the end of "Winter's Love"...

Really dig your interpretation, banshee... and a different part of me wants to believe that the people represent noah's family (him, father, son).

I hope that PB's new fans will buy the album!

also, noah is such a dad lol (fader)

it's a little bit weird in the sense i have such a strong emotional connection to person pitch that i don't really have with GR yet, although i'm sure that will happen with time (once i get closer to noah's age at the time he made this record i'm sure i'll see his current perspective better). so when i listen to person pitch i have all of these different experiences and emotional stages that i feel when certain things happen in the record, that are super relevant to me because we seem to be figuring out the same things. noah is 11 years older than me so it's hard to really get in the head of a 36 year old with kids because i'm not that yet!

so when i listen to GR it's mostly just appreciating how amazing the sonic textures are and how masterfully the record was produced... sort of unlocking the puzzle. but i haven't quite figured out the emotional... point for some of the songs. stuff like lonely wanderer and tropic of cancer i got right away because they immediately struck emotional cords that i already knew noah and i shared (love of family, preferring to keep a small circle of friends, being sort of introverted). but the other stuff hasn't come into full view yet.

i love the record and having listened to it in several different kind of psychedelic zones i'm really amazed by it but i'll probably prefer person pitch until those emotional connections happen. i just really, really love person pitch lol

Come to Your Senses is the one I have the deepest emotional connection to. don't know why but it makes me feel perfectly sad, and in love at the same time
