I think the video enforces a drug addiction - type interpretation of the song. "Dark cloud descends again." Really fun, beautiful for a second, natural and possibly serves as a enhanced connection with nature, but dangerous in that it can trap you. Interesting.

my impression was that its about how you just gotta chill out and take everything in stride. don't dwell on your problems lest they engulf you.

lots of life lessons to be learned from the grim reaper!

i really liked the stop motiony quality of the animation. don't really care for the quirky indieness of the main characters but i've felt that way since those storyboards were posted. overall its neat!
I think the video is thematically more sexual rather than psychedelic druggy but what do I know
Loved the lil crab dance

Best!! It was kinda sad! But the saving in the end made me so happy. I laughed so hard when I saw that guy bicep-deep in haha and then I was legitly worried for him when he was having a bad trip. such a beautiful style of animating!

not in the video but a high quality version of the track freebirded from somewhere earlier today and I felt like that one sounded quite a bit nicer than the album freebird yeah

Yeah anemone looks pretty sexual but also this part:

I see it as trying to fight off depression with drugs, but it doesn't really work...
but who knows. The greaper is a mysterious beast.

''the anemone is the agent of change. the figures in the video touch the anemone to begin the process of transformation. so in the context of the album the anemone represents the reaper.''

the ending. it seems that kid just got so into tripping the F out that he just snugged right into that shit. But he didn't look tripped out at all he just looked sad. I remember when for a bit there psychedelics were not exciting cuz it was too often. cept my friend and i had to pull each other out of it from inside the dang thing

I like that meaning. Thanks for sharing, PK!

I know popularity doesn't matter, and I don't really care how many people listen to Panda Bear, whether it's a lot or a little. But looking at the YouTube video of Boys Latin there are already a ton of comments of people who saw it on Adult Swim and looked it up afterwards cause they dug it, and I'm totally psyched that people are discovering PB!

Awesome. I love that we get an immediate response.
It's interesting how the anemone represents change, but it also kind of sucks you into a stasis. The people in the video are nearly trapped into change, but ultimately avoid it...?
Struggling to see how this makes sense thematically.
On a side note, I respect that it is not, but it's hard to see this as not a "tripping balls" face. Ha.

no the anemone is the agent of change, theres a distinction. its what causes the change, not the change itself.

watched it again. this is so special.

the sea squirt (anenome) is the oldest creature on earth known to be psychedelically 'sentient' .
i.e. these bio organic creatures have had the receptors to receive the 'psychedelic experience' for billions of years....
we have these receptors too , but we only been around for a few million.....

2true sonic boy. Their DNA has been perfecting quite a while. stoked that history is the in the vid. there is something totaly G about living in tides (half submerged, half not really). even us humans are 70% water! The more water I can make myself drink, the better i feel in every way. I think we're a lot like the squirts. I'll never look at one the same way after this...

I love when he is sitting with his feet in the water and he's realizing how alive and sentient everything is. he's not trippin anymore and he's got this whole new perspective. Then, idk if it's meant to humorous but that pan over to guy going for it so hard in the squirt makes me laugh so much. I think it's the timing that gets me. That eternal-meta-uni-ore grim giggle
