hey sonic,
it's very cool of you to hang out in this forum, answering questions and dropping hints. I can't think of another setting where fans get to pick the brain of a producer like this. it makes listening to the album a more personal experience.
--There's a lot of call-and-response vocal play on this album (sequential circuits, :42 in butcher and especially in boys latin). Is that something you guys discussed explicitly? What production techniques (besides panning) did you use to underscore that?
--Can you clue us in to some of the samples we haven't picked up on yet? What's your favorite sample on the album?
--Favorite song from this era? (i love the windows-down feel of TSOP and crosswords)
hey NP
thats kind ! ! thank you .
after a tough day at the oriffice , you guys n gals are fun .
on a good day , your pretty close to magic .....
....so thanks right back at you ! !
I can't clue you in to samples .
I dont really care about them beyond the sound , but they are all credited on the lp sleeve .
no , i dont think we discussed anything 'explicitly' regarding call& response vocals . All the ideas were Noah 's ...... he was 3 steps ahead of me the whole time . I was just agape , catching up on what he kept coming up with ....
I did say I loved that interplay & the yodel vibe.....i like that sort of vocal movement.
for sure , the right sort of delays & reverbs certainly can help , but in general this LP was an attempt to not rely on fx , and to get as much magic out of the dry signal .
I felt they all worked pretty much off the bat that are on the LP . as yet unreleased - popadum i'm very partial to , and jabawaqy & cosplay is a fave...
His vocals are super well thought thru ......so , if it aint broke.....
have a great week !! peteggx
Hey pete, really digging the production stoaked to hear it in full resolution !! But I have one gripe ! What happened to the organ on BBCM ?? I love the hype it has, but I loved the organ, too ! I must know before I try to remix with a midi organ

As someone who has trained with ayahuasca: don't take it lightly. Also, I really wouldn't suggest listening to this music, or really a lot of music, until after ceremony. And yeah you should be afraid, or at least highly respectful. It'll feel you out so if you're honest with your intention you'll be fine. I mean you'll be shitty (literally) but you'll be fine. Good vibes to you! (Edit: just realized multiple dialogues going on)
As a dedicated AC fan: fuck yeah

Rusty and Panda had a short-lived side project called Together, and I posted a recording I came into possession of here:
Yeah I thought that rusty santos performance was very cool.

Got super baked last night and Greaper'd with headphones on. I'm only noticing now that this is such a low quality freebird. When we get the real thing, it's gonna be like listening to a completely different album!

I mean I'm not going to love some dudes music just because he's a god tier mixer. Person Pitch and Sung Tongs are incredible and he did an incredible job, but I find his solo stuff very weak. I've seen his midi fest vids before.
I'm not wrong, it's my opinion

No it's not. It's really strange behavior of this board to constantly be ripping on (no pun intended) the "low quality" of the freebirds, when it's really not that bad at all

"Awful" is a bit harsh but yeah, Rusty Santos is best behind the boards.
Saying otherwise would be like defending Tarantino's acting career.

Anybody know what that robotic bass synth "voice" is saying in Crosswords? If it is even saying anything? Love the rhythm of that part, btw.
That might be my favorite jam at the moment, but they're all SO GOOD.

US release date is 5 weeks from today!
Only really exciting for those of us who are still holding out, myself included, although I have listened through the album a handful of times

Oh yeah, I am under no false pretense that I'm "pure" or something just cause I haven't been listening every day. I just want to wait until January to really dig into this album and get to know it intimately, just like with any other AC or PB release.
But I fully admit that I've already tasted the sweet nectar of the Greaper, and it is good

hey u guise !
I know what they're saying.........
all of them.....
.....sometimes its vocoded delays ( come to yr senses )
sum times its a voder impression (see youtube) with me n noah driving differant bits of an old digital vocoder (principe real)
....summen zeits its a 'vocaliser' effect done with 3 band pass feee-el-ters - (replicating the three formants/ filtros in the human voice box) (crosswords)
.....sometimes its a harmonizer (earthquaker devices organiser & patch bay pedals ) (woo hoo !)
and most of the time it's saying ...
';' listen . wonder . think . feel . share . enjoy . love . care . ';'
