It's interesting how Madlib inspired Person Pitch, Dilla on Tomboy (though I'm not sure Noah actualized that intention on the final product), and now 9th Wonder on PBVSGR. Who's next? Pete Rock? Preemo? El-P?? I'd love to see an album inspired by Pharoahe Monch and Organized Konfusion's production!

Principe Real wasn't a huge favorite on first listen (kinda missed the simpler ATP version) but it's starting to click with me really hard now. The vocal fx just get more delicious with every listen.

Will Mr. Noah be included on the CD release?

I honestly haven't listened to much of this material yet, going to hold out till January. I don't really do freebirds.

in the deluxe version it will, at least if you preorder. All preorders come with the ep

Hahahaha!! Thanks PK. Sorry to cause a fuss over nothing :)

Also really cool to know that Noah would rather use the original drum breaks instead of playing them himself. Pretty humble of him since we know he's got mad drumming skillz

Every PeteK post is better than the last :negative:

 i know.

thanks pete, also for that MBV track wich I didn't know yet. beautiful, and so is CTYS.

oh and I think Noah is one of the best drummers i've ever heard :shh:

Any of you guys have experience editing wikipedia? (I don't). Looks like the PBvsGR wikipedia page doesn't have any citations, and it'd be kinda cool if we could add them. Just a thought

We could even cite some PeteK posts, like the one about the recording locations!

Yep. I just renamed it Other Guy after the Warsaw show because "mention" isn't the lyric.

Yeah ......vraiment ....
... And in places Happy Mondays ....Stone Roses too ...ctys.cud almost be a fools gold era jam ?
GR has got quite a baggy vibe - Noah did'nt know Happy Mondays before , but during mixing he really dug it when I showed this to him . I think he recognises a madchester / baggy vibe - that was unintentional , it just grooved like that somehow....,.
I feel Mr noah is in a similar vein to Happy Mondays wrote for luck . vince Clarke remix Espesh .
I love the video for that where they're all bustin it out . Half the alphabet down their necks...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nqfO7Wy7BYs

.... slick looking kreuwe ....madchester indeed ...
.....more dog analogies too ..

When we were in lisbon last, we were talking , and I forget the exact circe...... but he asked my wife about pets I think . And I said. ' I'm Sam 's dog ' .... Noah quickly nodded sympathetically , saying ' I 'm definately Fern's & the kids dog too ' ...haha
Morning ! XPeteK

Selfish is so good, can't get over it man. Then it closes with Acid Wash. This album is such a monster. I love the whole thing but boys latin thru the end of the album is pure magic

yeah i was listening to selfish gene a few times in a row earlier. the instrumentation seems really simple at first, but there's a ton going on that you don't really notice until you've listened a few times. so great.

sonic sorry if this is a bad q and feel free not to answer it but, how much was weed use an influence on this material do u think? i feel like theres a lotta things goin on in the mulch of this album that u get on a whole other level when ur hi... more so than other ac projects and other music in general. for me its moments like how the "aint fate just me" drum fill is like descending a staircase down into the song as an opening into the world of the song, uno? idk maybe its just me
+ cosplay and the vape in the drawing of mrnoahs setup

Drugs are an influence in one way or another on almost any great record of the past 50 years.

It doesn't need to be said it probably had as much influence on the music as it always had. imo, older AC stuff was way more psychedelic but everything they do tends to be "on a whole other level when ur hi."

it really is incredible. I don't understand the 2 short interludes being singled out instead of added to the beginning or end of tracks like a lot of the other noise intros/outros are. are they significant in some way?

if I press play on sequential, I have to listen to the entire thing. I'm very glad I didn't listen to the Mr Noah track at all from the ep or else I'd probably be skipping around. this is such a perfect album.

That rolling scratching thing that comes in and then comes back in a few seconds later in time with the synth. Goes unnoticed for the first few listens. Lots of stuff like that going on.

I also love that ascending drone that comes in when he sings "now they really making noooise".

Selfish Gene is probably my favourite off the album. Been obsessed with it.
