hey pete i have been wondering since u say all the shows are recorded, do you and/or noah listen to live recordings after the show and note the things that went 'wrong' but sound cool and then implement that into the studio version? (i guess if you did/do it would be fitting w/ the whole 'new life requires death')
also are you going to be w/ noah for any of the european dates next spring like the post-tomboy tour? would be sick

My missus is in hospital at the moment, she's been there for a fortnight and I'd likely to be in til the new year. The hour drive there and back to visit each night is really hard, as is daily life, but this record is making life a damn sight more manageable at the moment. I just wanted to say thanks for everything, Pete and Noah. And all you CAers.

The concept of the "Selfish Gene" was mentioned in one of the Metal Gear games, but can't remember which one. I believe he used samples from Metal Gear Solid 4 in Soft Serve so maybe there is a connection.

Just pointing that out.

LIQUID. In Nature, family members don't mate with each other. And yet they help
each other to survive. Do you know why? It increases the chance that their genes will
be passed on to a new generation. Altruism among blood relatives is a response to
natural selection. It's called the Selfish Gene Theory.
SOLID SNAKE. You're telling me that your genes are ordering you to save the
Genome Soldiers?
LIQUID. You can't fight your genes. It's fate. All living things are born for the sole
purpose of passing on their parents' genes. That's why I'll follow what my genes tell me.
And then I'm going to go beyond. In order to break the curse of my heritage. And to do
that, first I will kill you

Hey Pete, what mix are you referring to here? We heard that Noah prepared a mix of short songs similar to Desperzonalidazcao that was supposed to be used instead of Mix Ticks back in September. Is that the one you mean? We actually don't have that mix yet.

Yeah I realized my post was kind of unclear so I edited it to mention that we don't have the extra mix (the one with Despersonalizacao-like sketches that was supposed to be used instead of Mix Ticks—that's the one you mean right?)

I was born in Truro and grew up in Newquay in southwest cornwall. Amazing surfing and beaches if thats your thing. The cornish pasties are the best around that part. Perranporth specifically.Verrrrrry cool to know that influence is in there even if only in a small way.

Thanks for the break down. That was quite interesting.

So psyched about the petek liner notes. becoming an active member of this board in time to participate in the pbvsgr hype train has been really fun, and gives us all a unique perspective on the album and its creation process. seeing (and deciphering) the sonic boom posts has been exciting and definitely adds to my appreciation of the album. its pretty cool to think that a petek post is immortalized on the album.... sort of feel like its for us <3

(((sonic)))

call me crazy, but i get a weird "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"-vibe around the 3:55 mark of Tropic of Cancer...just the latest in a continued series of new details i keep picking-up on and noticing w/every re-listen...like a lysergic musical onion...

...i've also been getting the same "triumphant" vibe off of "Acid Wash" that some other folks have also mentioned...it could have easily been the music playing at the end of Star Wars during the medal ceremony...

I feel the exact same way! When I joined this forum I was a freshly minted AC fan coming in at the tail end of the C Hz era and afraid that I had become a fan in what was sort of an "off year" for AC (I think '14 and '10 are the only years in AC's life that the band didn't tour, no?). Little did I know I'd be in for the wild ride that this thread has been.

And I absolutely agree that the liner notes are gonna be a great little capstone to the PeteK posts on CA. I was going to try and decipher what I could from the video still, but I decided not to cause I don't wanna read them til I have the album in my hands

I really don't know why I think of almost every song as a color, but it seems vivid to me at times.

Sequential Circuits - light blue
Mr Noah - yellow
Crosswords - yellow
BBCM - pink
Boys Latin - (blank)
Come to Your Senses - Red. Very red
Tropic - (blank)
Lonely Wanderer - purple
Principe Real - multiple
Selfish Gene - orange
Acid Wash - dark/ocean blue

Yo Victor I feel exactly the same way, I became an anco fan at the end of the CHz era. Makes me happy to be a part of a release cycle! (Sorry Slasher Flicks, went completely under my radar until the album came out)
Also as a side note AC barely come to aus as far as I'm aware so it will probably be a while before I get to a live show :( oh well

It's cool to see how yours matches up Scooter. Nice idea on the colors :) thought I would be alone in this... alone on my rainbow road. ahaha

Unrelated note, I keep on wanting to call Boys Latin "Dark Cloud" again... it doesn't help that I always get words mixed up when they have the same number of letters :monocle:

I'm starting to slowly see this album change my life but I need to take a break from it at the same time :) I just can't listen to anything else but I want it to stay powerful

here's a funny little panda related story- way back in May i went to see the second show of his tour, in Philly. i got there real early and a guy walked up to stand next to me and we struck up a conversation and realized we're mutuals on tumblr. really ironic to meet him. we ended up becoming really close friends because of that night, and even though i only met him in person that one time, we talk nightly.

he came to that concert with a little present for noah- a big H in an envelope. hope noah got it (he handed it to a sound guy to give to noah) and got the reference
