So stoked another Cosplay is on it's way!!

Sonic do you think there is any chance of stems being released in the aftermath? I would so so so deeply appreciate and pay for a capella and instrumental tracks. I'd love to be able to use them creatively dj-ing & also just for plain ol' personal entertainment. I don't mean to devalue the beautiful album that we've been given by asking this. It's just really interesting to me, and I've had this happen before where after hearing something a capella or just the instrumental I heard things that were hard to hear with everything going on, but after that I was able to hear them clearly in the full versions.
- even if not, thanks for everything you Peteing Kembering Peketepr :)

this would be cool even in a tomboy 4xLP box style release

Just relax, boys. The album just freebirded a few days ago, how about you light up a stogie, sit infront of the campfire, and keep your eyes on the flames while the record plays behind you...maybe destress yourself from the anxiety built up while we waiting for this. ENJOY it, and the other tracks will get released when they get released.

So those 3 haven't even gotten the studio treatment yet.... maybe there's some other songs we haven't heard?

Hoping that the reason ms pacman was changed to faces in the crowd was because og faces and jabberwocky just got merged into one track.

i've had a listen through of the album and it's absolutely miraculous. i'm gonna shelve it as best i can til the release, just a personal preference for the highest quality. but in the tween time the ep is still blowing my mind...especially Faces. what a glorious jam...
the opening echoey kick, that swirling aqua sonar sound, his first
'to my guy,' the shimmering sparklies throughout, that bass which has a melody of its own, the
way the drums kick in just a smidge louder for the last chorus, and his final 'ooh ooh
ooouooooohhh oooooh' ....
the devil truly is in the details. and I can't wait to hear all the album's sonic goodies in their highest def come the new year. many many thanksgiving to pb pete and others for their hard work on these songs, it's paying off so profoundly

This album was partly recorded in Rugby?? That's my around my neck of the woods!

So who exactly did what in producing, mixing, mastering this album? Is that known info or do we have to wait until release?

This seems to have leakeed esp early. Ariel's album freebirded early last month but still no where near as early as this one.

Anyway, sounding great! Really wish I had some good speakers and sub to listen on

Wotcher ,
Yep . Sunny Rugby....my alma mater ....ha
For a few short weeks each year it's pretty sweet .....
Arcadia meets Elysia in mid summer . .....

I was born down the road in motor city uk - Coventry ., Warwickshire - Like Detroit , it's lost all it's motor industry now, but it's the place where they made all the Jaguars , Triumph cars & bikes , Austin Healey , Morris , Rolls Royce engines - buncha sick shit ....

The lp was co-produced by panda bear & sonic boom
Mixed by sonic boom & panda bear
Engineered by Joachim monte
Mastered in Camden town , London by Simon Davey .

The recording was done in lisboa , with extra overdubs , stuttering sparkles and whipped cream
flips done in Rugby with electronics from Cornwall , UK (EMS synthi AKS) , Utrecht Holland ( fenix II modular synthesiser ) , NC , USA (Moog) & Akron Ohio ( Earthquaker devices 'organiser ' , 'arpanoid' amongst other devices .
It's been a crazy stretch .... Been round the globe on this one .....in Tokyo for the launch , California for promo bits ....... But it somehow makes sense everywhere ....
Noah always saw this LP in technicolor ( strong synasthesia of color from sound ) & there's something supa Futura & universal about the vibe ...
Have a good thanks giving cousins ! xPetek

Ola lucashhhhh !
Panda made the stuff in spring & beyond last year .
Some of the Trax were started during the CHZ
Sessions at night after the sessions , but most of the stuff was done at miosiotis garage ( crosswords original full name )....
That was a pad Noah had outside Lisbon across the Targus , by the beach .
He sold it to move into a sick spot in principe real , where some stuff was done .
He has a few places he uses as studios including a spot in the Barrio Alto .
Namouche , where the majority of the tracking was done & all the vox recorded is near the beautiful Zoo in Lisbon . We'd eat lunch with the crocodiles some days .
Pigeons , other days when the crocs were too tired ....
That zoo is the bomb .... Noah was gonna call one if the jams lisboa zoo at one point
- one we didn't work on . He had a bunch of overspill even from the 18 or so songs we did work on .
Give my regards to st Antonio ! Petek x

Sonic, were you at that Black Dice show a month or so ago? My friend who is a Petek superfan thinks he spotted you. I was too busy flailing my hair all over the place up front to notice anyone. That show turned my insides into outsides and back into insides.

When I first listened to the freebird it didn't really hit me, but the same thing happened when I first heard Person Pitch. I didn't really like the vibe of any of the tracks and it just sounded like over-reverberated things. Then I sat with Person Pitch and now it's one of my favorite albums of all time.

Listening to PBVSGR after a few days I feel the same thing happening. Slowly each track is making so much sense, the melodies are so catchy, the sound worlds are so explorative and colorful. This is definitely an album that's a grower and I definitely feel it slowly growing on me.

that would be a cool thing but i'm assuming the records have already gone to press if it's gonna be out in early January and petek himself said they're not fully mixed

Hey Pete, is that you narrating that teaser on Tumblr? What a voice. :smoking:

So can we now confirm that both Dave and Noah have synesthesia? What would explain quite a lot, and it makes me wonder just how differently their music would sound if their visual associations were less pronounced.

The vocals in the new video are from Boys Latin. Same as in this earlier teaser

Being totally honest....I think the voice saying "Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper" is kinda cheesy. I liked seeing the LP fold out tho, hoping for some cool liner notes

While I can't quite read all of those liner notes, they look to be sprinkled with ellipses, just like a certain CA member's posts :smoking:

EDIT: Yup they're written by PeteK. Looks like they're signed "Sonic Boom - summer 2014" at the bottom

I am so thrilled that we're gonna get liner notes by Pete! It feels like all the messages that he's been posting here on CA are gonna culminate in those liner notes
