psst - the deluxe 3xLP/t-shirt/poster seems to have gone down in price? it's $30 now, grab this while you can before Domino realizes the horrible mistake they've made making this great album such a steal
cant believe people care about the lack of a drop in CTYS, the constant beat is already banging enuff
I just loved the build up in there. makes it much more powerful, that line "You don't make that one again" and it also makes the ARE YOU MAD after that more powerful too. would've loved some more dynamic in the song overal btw. but I still love it to hell. I think, maybe, maybe it could've been even better. well, and maybe I change my mind in the future.
Lonely wanderer & Principe Real (!) are my favorites atm.

Ya'll are gonna hate me for making this comparison, but does anyone else think Noah sounds actually super Brian Wilsony on Lonely Wanderer?

I know it's a pretty tired comparison, but I got brian wilson vibes on that as well...
i thought of a specific part in "don't talk" from pet sounds....
@ about 1:45 where he repeats "listen"...

hey gurls
hope its goo times all points east & west !
say - u do know Mr 'sonic' is not the God of nobody or nothing .
it's supa uber sweet tho that u try to doo right by us & each other ....thank you .
Guess I'm just saying the Noahtorious Coat Wearer and I ain't bumming , & I dont think either of us wood xpetek u to abstain from lisning in . speshially If you bought it , or think you might ......
either way is good . i respect those who want to wait as well . nice vibe too .
super psyched most of you are seeing the light & the flickering shadows that is GR ,
and proud the rest of you are checking it out and maybe giving it a chance as the unique offspring it is .
look both ways before u leep . ALL your opinions are valid !
!! empathy first , discussion second , fun finally !!
I dunno what links remain ...(funnily enough domino did NOT cause the freebird - be uber happy if we could drop the domino=bad guys vibe. pretty please ?- they're doing a ton for you that they have no need to do ..... you'll see ..... and equally - fur herr Bear . please trust me on that if u can )
I hear there were two freebird levels , 192 & 256 kbps .
If it relaxes you , Noah & I use this format to chek mixes & whizz stuff about .
.....you guys are pretty next level in wanting FLACy stuff......
but for ease of transfer , hi qual mp3 is a common currency for the in dust ry .
....n a t u r e l l e m e n t , the Domino files are better ......
But ,I certainly dont think its enough to ruin anything . it just'll be a little less hi-fi .......
we all have differant ears .
mine are kind of pointy .....
y'know tho' - I CAN tell you , I've been listening to this in every form for over a year now .
for 'work' & for pleasure .....here AND there .......
And ....for my pointys .....It only gets better ......
I dont expect everyone to have that love for it , but I can guarantee theres a carefully considered something for everyone there ....the sequencing was all Noah's work & was inspired IMO
....you might like to try it in a few situations ...
.....it's meant to have levels that wont be immediately apparent , but are accessible to everyone .
and revealed in some environments more than others .
......something to grow with ......even for lovers at first site.
lastly:
4Sure , I'll drop the ATP rehearsals for u when the time is right - but remember , bre'r Bear evolved & changed the songs and the set constantly .....so thats the bare bones vibe ....which I know some of you crave ...
til then , lots of love &
have a great big happy thanks-giving time !

I give the edge to Tropic, but LW is a very close second.

Pete, Vovenarg was just joking around there. I don't think anyone here really cared about other people listening to the freebird after you weighed in.
On a tangentially related note, Principe Real is so fucking groovy it's unreal. Hearing the bassline clearly makes a huge difference.

It would be super awesome if panda did a live DVD release of one of his shows with the visuals playing behind him and all! I'm sure a bunch of people would buy it too! Plus it'd be great just to have really good quality live versions of the songs because some of the songs are pretty different from the album versions plus all the nice transition sounds. One can only hope ha

Hey Pete!
Remember when we asked you for your favorite 3 songs and you said one of them was one we hadn't heard yet? Is it Acid Wash? It's one of my favorites too and the production on it is next level. The bassy parts that rumble and shake tickle my ears in such an awesome way!

love the post pete thanks for all the input!

i love the way the lyrics are on this album.. really vague, really cryptic. i'm already applying things that mean a lot to me to the lyrics. maybe it's just not a one where noah wants to lay it all out there plainly - he does that with the sound, but the lyrics mean something to him and it's up to us to find his or our own meanings there. i love love love it

Yeah this line confuses me the most. Being the last line of the album makes me really wanna know what it means haha. I think I get the "I'm past" with all the "won against the deep/dark". Graph the spasm I have no idea though.
… map the uneasy territory, the turbulent sailing? the spasm/the deep/the dark/the grim: now yr past all that strange craziness and can see it objectively. it's in the past now, it's graphed. you're new & fresh, acid washed. creativity defeats the conditions.

I've listened 3 times through. The mixing on this album is a masterpiece in itself. It's like two different insane artistic achievements that collided to make one of the coolest albums I've ever heard both musically and sonically (pun intended). Gonna wait till I get the vinyl to listen again with some friends that are holding out till the real thing.

I guess LONELY WANDERER is one of my fave jambos......4 sure ...pure electric.....love the fuses burning at the end ..... spark out !
I think SEQUENTIAL is the bomb too ...
...that bkwds vocal.......
....acid wash indeed...
.....yeah those Bass drops & rises .....mutual old homies we had to invite to the party ....they go subsonic on the low ones & ultrasonic on the up ones (nadir) . they're in a few songs.....Selfish Gene def has them ......trying to think ...theres another one mebe too....
...if you have sick speakers & u set them up infront of yr face , and you sit in between them & crank it a little , the sub on that acid wash bass oscillators blow on your face as they sweeps across the soundfield & the frequency drops ...hope it works in clubs .........
uber jazzed about COSPLAY & POPPADUM & JABBAWAQY too........
...still gotta take those to the final GZ .....
....kind of wanna do those in the snow ....
...mebe with ze Baselisks in switzerland , in the home of Albert Hoffman where all the many artwerk geschmachter were made my Herr Bear Papiro .........
the suffocated silence of snow....... its the only vibe we did'nt catch into the mix yet ....
...could jibe with poppadum's yodel vibe , eh ??
¶'' TOO BUSY LIVE-INGGGG''...¶.........
pretty darn close ....... but other missions are pressing for now....
thanks 'mbiliz' ! thats kind of you above ! you got Noah to thank for that ..... the wizard of odd !
its been supa sweet trip i gotta say.....GR was made in Lisbon thru the bright light of winter & smalltown Rugby, UK in the fine spring and early english summer - one of the best for decades.....
....final tweaks & post production vibed in late summer in the palm tree'd bio-sphere - Minorca,Spain... .
lot of sunshine in those grooves.....
.... definately be psyched to get a little 'alpenglow' into those last jams tho.....
....but I think you'll b gettin a lil' taste of summer dose udders in sum form beefore u know it .......

I KNEW that was fire burning. Love it!
And I love all the interlude/strange noises between songs.
This is my first post-freebird post. I've listened to the album at least 20 times
By now. I absolutely love it. I could go on but there's still so much more listening to do.
