I'm planning on recording the Meow Wolf show on my little Zoom recorder, it won't be the best quality due to the size and my inexperience with it. Also if it's too difficult to find a good position I'll probably forget about it. I think someone else was planning to record this show as well? Last year at the Avey show I found a good spot but didn't adjust things correctly so it came out sounding funny.

Also, I got permission from the band, should that be enough and I can just show security the messages?

Wouldn't volunteer any info with security unless they find your zoom. Wherever the soundguy is would probably be the best place to record.

Ok thanks. Tbh I'm probably going to just tell them, I don't want them to think I'm smuggling in a weapon or something. If they say no then they say no.

It's crazy to think that a new AC tour is coming tomorrow. I've seen them 3 times but the only really new material I've ever seen them debut was Gnip Gnop. I'm very excited for the possibilities

Yeah agreed. Set your levels low and stick close to the soundboard as high up as you can get

and ideally give to file to a friendly CAer who might volunteer some light mastering work. isn't too hard to do a few small things that make it sound way better. i would but no longer have pro tools

Whoever recorded and mastered the Panda show at 9:30 club for the Buoys tour is a fuckin legend! Superb audio quality!

I recorded the Meow Wolf show, I haven't listened to it yet but I didn't fuck up the levels (this time lol) and recorded next to the soundboard so I hope it's passable. I'll take somebody up on the mastering work when I get back later this week if it's a good enough recording

they did play some new new stuff! i haven't seen an official set list so idk names yet but if my count is correct, they played 4 new songs that they didn't play at cain's. some might be music box ones, idk though cause i haven't listened to those boots. here's my best take on a set list from meow wolf:

i just remembered there was one more song somewhere between 24 and defeat but i can't remember where. this one was avey led. let the good night shine? let the good lady shine? something about being a passerby. i don't remember hearing it at tulsa. i'm pretty sure this brings the total to 13 new songs so far.

yeah defeat was played! i just edited my
previous comment to include the set list from last night. i think they've played 12 new songs in total between the last two nights. both shows were stellar, and i might be biased but i loved every single thing they played. super stoked about this album.

Nice! This is a song that Deakin was playing at solo shows, my favorite for sure. Fan title "Once Again".

Deakin insta post says they won't do many shows other than this little tour before they record, so earliest I'd guess recording maybe early next year... Optimistically the record could come next year but I'd set your expectations for 2021
