wow guys I'm geeking this is so fantastic. My favorite stuff by avey since the 2010/11 tour era songs. I think he's really tapping into some new vibes here while capitalizing on some of his best types of sounds and songs in places as well. :nateweep:

i didn't expect this to live up to the hype that i've seen in this thread but i gotta say, i enjoyed this quite a bit. even if a couple of these new songs feel derivative of stuff they've done before, i can appreciate it for what it is at this point and i look forward to seeing how these songs continue to change, assuming he's going to be playing them for a while. right now and eyes stick out as favorites

These get better with every listen. Red Light Water Show might be my fave so far. It's like an evolved form of Death Raga. I hope to Christ this stuff makes it onto an album, and that there is room on it for Song for Jerome. I think I like solo AC stuff now better than band output.....:/

I have to stop listening to this bc I don't want demoitis, but it's hard when it's so good. I hope he can get these recorded and released fairly quickly!
Don't we want him to test them out, rewrite, hone them live for a few years touring before recording? That seems to me how the best AC music is made.
Would be interesting though if the recording was more raw like call home buy grapes.

I reached out to Domino for further comment. Official statement from Avey: "I'm not in Asheville I'm just at home right now."

I'm not sure if Avey works that way solo, I remember him commenting about the Down There release that he just wanted to get it out quickly, and he didn't tour in advance of it and it's a masterpiece. But whatever he chooses to do with these songs I'll be fine with because I'm sure they'll turn out great

on my second time listening through this boot, actually paying attention this time. Loving the emotion in the opening track, and the second song reminds me a lot of glasslands

he was sitting in a stool playing a guitar with so much reverb over it you couldn't hear individual strums on it, but he was strumming very fast most of the time so what resulted was basically a powerful droning sound from the guitar. he also had one synth, a drum machine and probably some sampling/looping mechanisms. very ambient and spacey at points but also very joyous and peppy at others. not a dull moment. sounded like feels+down there. feels down there
the single closest release i can relate it to in sound would be tape player chants for winter
Yaa.. I just created an account to [thumbs up] "feels down there".. While I'm here though, thank you so much for recording this - I'm beyond excited to listen to it right now.

I love these songs so much. I hope he records them asap. Happy Daze is so good it just hits me right in my soul. Particularly the "pick up the pace, pick up the pace" coda.

These songs sound pretty dark and abrasive... hard to tell under all that delay and fone fuzz...

I really hope Avey doesn't make a "studio" recording of this stuff, meaning I really love the spotenatity that this music has live and I feel like it would be a disservice to the music to record it in an overly structered way. Having said that I really want to see this released - and not as a live album - but rather similar to the way they made "Meeting of the Waters" where it's sort of live and studio at the same time. I want an Avey Tare recorded in the middle of a rainforest solo record.
