While Feels isn't my favorite AC record sonically, Avey excels at romantic imagery. Hard to pick a single favorite (and honestly, because the lyrics are so impressionistic, I think they mostly work much better animated by Avey's vocal performances than on paper).

What are y'all thoughts on Cuckoo Cuckoo's lyrics. I've always gone along the miscarriage interpretation but today I was thinking about it and realised it could be about the death of childhood. As in, Avey singing about his childhood self as if it was a dead child. This is an Avey motif though so there's every chance it's been said a million times before.

And I think My Girls is about Noah's family.

i could see cuckoo cuckoo being about either of those - hard to say which one for sure though. i actually came here to share one of my favorite lyrics and it's from that song! "no heart flutters in late spring" really gets to me...i feel like i know that feeling so well of heart flutters in late spring. ahhhhhh. and you gotta be going through some really sad stuff to not feel those heart flutters at that magical time of year

This really does sound like a funeral for a baby that only ever lived in the womb. Though of course he could simply be talking about his younger self.

This sounds like Avey proudly remembering his childhood self. Kids generally put fingers and other things in and around their mouths even though they aren't supposed to. This sounds to me, like, remember what you were.

wowowowwwie love your interpretation so much. i really love that theme in the lyrics avey writes. it feels really important to be able to hold onto some aspects of your child self as we grow older, and he is so good at describing how those realizations feel
