AC has been used by the band in an official and unofficial capacity for over a decade. Prospect Hummer literally has "AC" written on the CD I'm pretty sure. It's on their facebook, YouTube, reddit etc.

If you call them "AnCo" I assume you've either missed ALL of that somehow, or you've noticed them calling themselves that countless times and thought "naaaah they picked a shitty nickname I'm gonna use the joke name invented by hipsterrunoff after Merriweather came out instead" in which case you're a bad person

AnCo doesn't sound great either, it just looks and sounds obnoxious

Aw I haven't looked at the AMA so I didn't see that thing from Deakin about it sorry. It's reassuring to know it doesn't piss him off and I guess I should cool my jets on the issue. If the question had been "do you prefer AC or AnCo" then obviously the answer would have been AC though... and that's what I value most, not afterthought explanations about how you can't have one set of letters referring to more than one thing because A. Of course you can. AC also stands for Anal C***. It doesn't matter. And B. Your problem is with the band not the fans who call them AC since that's basically the official nickname for them.

So anyway I'll stop harping on about it and getting pissed, but I won't stop calling them AC or secretly hoping more people call the band the same thing that the band like to call themselves because that seems nicer to me. Honestly, if they were like "actually AnCo has a nice ring to it, most of us like it more than AC now" I'd start calling them AnCo in an instant.

Except no one refers to a stopwatch as "SW" whereas lots of people refer to air conditioning as AC. I don't really know how AnCo would even compare to something as dumb as "StWa" anyway because at least AnCo is easily pronounceable.

I'm not saying AC is invalid or any less valid than AnCo, as the band use AC as the official abbreviation, I just prefer AnCo as an abbreviation. Some people prefer AC and that's cool with me. I don't see what all the fuss is about really, it's just an abbreviation after all.
