I think the Geo track is actually way better. Never expected something of this caliber from him

so, this is possibly -
(a) - The first in a continuous set of material from the guys!
(b) - A dump of random ol stuff they had lying around
(c) - Both A & B
I'm hoping on A but would settle for C...I hope they dont go with B and only release a Vol. 1 and then no more...
I also like that they're both 15 minute 10" halves of whatever vinyl language that translates to...its speaks well for the hope that they release a Vol. 2 w/15 minutes from Panda and Deakin...goes without saying (evn tho i said it)
To Pimp a Butterfly and new AC...
XMAS CAME EARLY THIS YEAR BOIZ!

Everyone's sampling Debussy now, you can hear the part at 2:07 3 minutes into Avey's song. The same theme pops up at 4:20......... ....

Yeah that would be a sweet lil 1-hour album split into 4 sides. It'd be like AC's Recurring
This still hasn't gotten old yet for me after so many listens. Such a sweet surprise for them to drop it out of nowhere. Bless
edit: damn didn't take long for someone to find one of these samples!!

Avey's is a grower.
Geo's is a mind-blower.

Avey's track has an even better unexpected dub section than AP's Dinosaur Carebears

If there's a Panda Bear track I hope we get an extended Soft Serve Rip Curl. I would kill for that.

Ok so who can figure out the lyrics for Avey's side?
Especially curious about the part at 3:26 - "Get me some peace in the winter"?

Someone on /r/animalcollective mentioned how cool it would be if they released Vol 2 on the fall equinox with a Panda Bear track for the summer and Deakin track for the fall. Purely speculation but that would be really cool. Although I don't want to wait that long

o Joy! New music from the boy.s
This is such a fun idea/release, atlas sound blog giveaway style. seasonal offerings (yes vol2 for summer into fall - panda > deak)
Geo's side is the obvious standout (it's the first we've heard Just Geologist with a vocal, & cheers to Tickley, where she at, new music?) and damn its fire. Word to the Burial comparison, but also just so AC and like a sad trip into a liquid phosfating emptiness. . .
Avey's side is so sweet and unabashedly him, with a hint of ghosts smeared in tanning oil.
I wiissh that the downloads were both hi-quality, the Geo side sounds AMAzing (.aif and loud!) and Avey's m4a just so-so. Maybe they fix?
So happy tho!

haha of course geo's side is an .aif, what an audiophile
love this new thing, thankful the boys decided to share it
was hoping for a deak/panda split as well, but it doesn't seem like that's the case

hm so going off Aveys reply, this is just an out-of-the-blue release like Maya or something.. guess that's cool. Didn't quite seems like the beginning of an album cycle or something. 2013.... so post chz, maybe pre slasher? hmm

kinda happy it's an old recording, because I'm not big on this style of avey yelling. Screams are good but I think if he just pulled it back a little he might be able to be a little more dynamic and subtle
