Untying The Knot also goes so well with Comfy In Nautica and Amanita as well. Deep eastern spiritual vibes going on!

i kinda like how all the songs are changing/switching confirmed names. all these songs kinda feel like levels of dante's inferno or something. or like nameless waves on a giant ethereal beatbox.
random selections from a top 40 from another universe where panda bear is every popstar and he has tons of different personalities with varying tone and feel and subject matter, ha ha.
i really like what you said here; they are like levels--in dante sort of way, and like a video game to me. There is this CHz feeling of switching between stations or levels from song to song. i feel like i'm running on a mouse wheel when listening to each song, just at different paces and with different sights passing by. The songs and the mixes have this circuitousness to them.

I totally get that feeling too! I think it's part of the reason why I love the Mr Noah video

has anyone been using spotify to listen to this?
i was using it on my work computer to listen and it appears to be playing a live version of untying the knot instead of the studio version. is that happening to anyone else or is my spotify flipping out? it's not happening for the other three songs, just this one.

It's fantastic how the vocals in Untying the Knot bounce off of one another and create a kind of warbly, mystical effect. These are the best vocal effects I've ever heard from him.
I also love how this EP starts with dogs barking/howling and ends with Noah "howling"

Yeah, it's so magical. I feel like I'm in some kind of crystal cave where all the sounds are reflecting. It's reaaally growing on me fast.

nah i'm pretty sure it's a live recording (has no layered vocals, no eastern-y guitar at the beginning). i have the domino download on my other computer, so i've heard what it should sound like.
if it's not happening to anyone else i guess mine is just glitching out. (maybe drawing from the bootleg files i have on my computer somehow? i dunno)

Huh, weird. Yeah, it's definitely thinking you have Untying the Knot as a local file, which you do, just not the studio version.

The outro to This Side of Paradise is one of the most "magical" ac related moments in a while, almost reminds of feels era stuff in a way. But like, completely new too, which I think has a lot to do with the production.
Also, something about the way he sings the HEYHEYHEY part in Mr. Noah is so amazing.

i'm surprised how cool these tracks are. they have a drive i haven't heard in any ac related thing in many years, maybe ever. it's kinda clean too, which is a nice change.
cool stuff. looking forward to the album now.

Rob Frost just clicked with me. Gutted that Faces isn't on the album but I'll no doubt wait for Hashman's brother to compile the definitive version with bespoke album art.

I think it's about 'ghost perspective' haha. It is scary though. That dog has such a short leash!
It seems like a trapped ghost, reliving some weird corner of time, occasionally seeing something slightly new...

Those were my thoughts exactly! It was most significant for me when it progresses to the scenes showing the woman // couple in the room and view 1 is just her crying on the bed, view 2 is him somewhat aggressively with agitation speaking to her sternly, and the last view is him in a much more neutral pose appearing to be explaining something
I always dig really deep into AC material for uh "meaning" so it'll be fun to have other stuff leap out
Thanks for the post <3

i'm i the first one to mention that there is a very very very warped voice in the beginning of TSOP saying "this side of parad- ise!". or am i just imagining that?

The first half of What Would I Want? Sky kinda reminds me of the Greaper material, similar "break"-style sampled drums
Also Faces in The Crowd still reminds me of the '06-'09 version of Who Could Win a Rabbit, how sick would it be if AC played WCWAR and transitioned into Faces? Too bad PB said he's not gonna play Greaper material with AC...

While the undying use of repetition on some of these tracks, This Side of Paradise is read
the assonance in section b "give the road a good look over, and make it golden with your common sense" or something like that. It's so good. Also that beat is my favorite. Glad to hear some distortion on this project too.

i'm a disgustingly puppy-love fan boy with this EP enough already but i think i like it even more on speakers. especially on the title track it sounds even more like a wolf-humanoid Noah Virgil howlsinging in a mass of madness

also have we already talked about how incredibly fucking sweet those drums on untying the knot sound? cause we should i can't get enough of them. those first hits when they come in and interrupt those coy little last two notes of the sample, fuck. FUCK!

It sounds to my ears like the weird looped bit at the beginning of TSoP is actually the 50/50 sample, just all whacked out with effects. Anyone else hear it?

It is fun to hear mr noah for real in a finely tuned track, but I miss towards the end of the boot where he starts singin louder/higher, that felt PRETTY DEEP to me so I miss it in this. I appreciate his choices still and enjoy both versions of the song/Still proud of our boy obviously. Anyone else feel me on this?

I love how simple Mr Noah is when you get down to it, just a repeating bass line and two different melodies. Obviously there's a lot of other stuff going on too but overall a fairly straightforward jam. And it works so well.
