This album is going to predict/pre-date the coming of "Guitar House" just like Person Pitch did for "Chillwave." Ends Meet has this Tropicália-meets-Detroit-techno thing going for it, I hope the drum machine makes it to the studio.
man holy shit i didn't think two sentences could make me any more excited for sinister grift than i already was. well said.

had to listen to Madrid Boot today. This "Token" is such a good track in a crowded field of incredible sounds. might be my most anticipated anco release and after isn't it now's 5 year run-up that's saying something.

IIRC anco weren't radiohead fans and thought they were boring? Or was that just Avey?

He said that shit in like 2007 because he said they couldnt release their album for free because they needed to make money off of it and it follows them now

No that was Geologist. Avey mentioned Radiohead when discussing Pullhair Rubeye

Avey: I dont like radiohead, ill even go as far to say that they are pretty boring. But thats where the discussion ends for me. It doesnt prove that they are a bad band or that any one of their records is bad it just means i dont connect to them. And this is proven by the people that love them and im not gonna go on their fan site and try and argue about it cause that would be silly.
That to me is whats at the heart of liking a band. Its an emotional (or personal) connection you have to them and ultimately i dont believe any one of you can explain this phenomenon atleast i cant. Its not concepts that make you like them and i dont believe its concepts that make you dislike them either.
Is playing an acoustic guitar any more original or "not lazy" then simply wanting to put out your record backwards, is using a marshal amplifier???

takethemoneyandrun: I guess this was directed at me? I don't know if you read my post right or not or whatever, but it really didn't have anything to do with radiohead. I was just saying that we both had the idea of putting something entirely in reverse at about pretty much the same time (I actually sent out both forwards and reverse versions of our song to my friends when I showed them) so I can see where you are coming from making such a "drastic move." Sis around the sandmill sounds hell of awesome backwards. Kria has Best Voice.
Avey: no the radio head thing wasnt directed towards you, it was just a generic example of a band that i dont listen used to make the point that i dont feel the need to call thome york a douche bag because he makes music that i dont like. I actually respect him.

we want this to mean - "done recording," right? any other bread crumbs or insider news to suggest that's what it means?

i interpreted it as "about to start recording" as i think he's been in mexico with sonic for the mariachi reset for a lil bit, unless that was a solo expedition on pete's end... though i'm not privvy on how long ago that was or how long recording takes or whatnot, waiting on josh, etc.
damn i can't wait for this though, so incredibly exciting to hear anything on sg.

DAMN. LIVE DRUMS. Could be wrong, but it feels like it's all of Panda solo albums are built on drum machines/beats.
Person Pitch, Tomboy, Greaper, Homies, Buoys, I'm not really remembering any songs that feel like had live drums.
The live versions of SG very much felt like we were once again heading towards big blown out electronic beats/drum machines. Wonder how much of the percussion will be recorded live.

Good point, should definitely help this album stand out if he decides to do some live drum stuff. Wonder how different these songs will sound with a studio treatment

Noah has said a lot of the drums on PBvGR were him recorded

Really? To my ears "Untying the Knot" is the only jam featuring a discernible drum kit.

hope noah/domino do this like Reset and release digitally early with physical out later, was so nice not to have to wait another 6 months or however long for that

I've got a really good feeling about this one. Coming off that Reset high and with Deakin behind the board...this guy is about to crank out an all-time classic and then go smoke weed about it.

Buoys was recorded exactly 11 months before it was released, but like 8 or 9 months before it freebirded.
