This is such a brilliant way to preview the record and more than I could have hoped for. I love how open they are these days. That's not intended as a criticism of how they've ever done things previously, they've been brilliant over the last few years with sharing boots via bandcamp etc, but I'm thrilled they're pulling back the curtain even further.

I'm also really happy to hear how much Deak is clearly enjoying this time and how much he feels completely integral to this sound, the composition and the performances. I wasn't a massive fan of Wide Eyed on CHz but the acoustic version he did on that radio show was beautiful. Sleep Cycle was fantastic and so well received, and he seems to have gone from strength to strength. DownDown is such a heavy, emotional song, I can't wait to hear how it eventually turns out.

We go back is such a weird song, I can't stop listening to it. There's just so much energy in it, and the vocal delivery is so delierious. I remember first hearing Bolder at desert daze 2019, and the song was so playful, and even kinda corny. I didn't know how I felt about it. But I found myself constantly singing it in my head over and over again, with the drum and bass forever looping in my head. I think the new version is just as playful, without being corny at all, and has improved instrumentally in every way. Although, I will miss Avey singing in auto tune "I can be the one to do the pleasing." Gotta love a good Avey sex jam.

Thanks for the recording, hunks!
This is so great, if they continue to churn out 30 min sets every week, they wait until February will be much less painful. Even less so if another single will drop in December or January. Good times!

that is the exact thought i had last night while trying to capture why it isn't pulling me in. it's really the only song off time skiffs and the follow-up that i can't get on board with yet. hoping the studio version does it.

Wouldn't be super surprised if we got a single on the last day of the broadcasts, or something along those lines. They did say to "expect surprises".

i felt that way about bolder for sure but we go back's new lyrics, harmonies/vocals, and better drum groove saved it for me.

Been playing this today in the car and on headphones and I am really into this. Feels like a lot of grower material which I haven't really felt since I was first getting into AC and I kept finding new little sections and hooks and harmonies and fills which painted the finer details on the broad brush strokes in my mind. It's not necessarily that it's complex, I think these songs are some of the most straightforward they've made in terms of familiar sounds and contrasting elements, it's all very cohesive, but they seem to be getting richer the more I listen, opening up further, and sections which washed over me are becoming some of my favourites. As I've said a few times, I'm not that familiar with most of the new material, I've not even listened enough to recognise most of the changes people have talked about, but the more I hear, the fonder I grow. I mean no disrespect by this, I'm not trying to be funny, but it all sounds very brown to me! It's their only music which sounds like that. I like it a lot.

The funny thing is is that this is still up at https://blastradio.com/animal_collective and it expires in around 5 hours. You can still officially listen to it and bootleg it yourself.

Could somebody provide the track sequence pretty please? (I am horrendous about keeping up with song title changes, so I'm not sure what is what).

Honestly I would love to hear the demos for those songs before they got morphed into the PW album. I’d pay good money for it

I feel like We Go Back has more of a Feels b-side vibe. Reminds me of the playfulness of Tikwid and Fickle Cycle.

Here's an updated link. I recaptured the broadcast in much better quality.

The show was broadcast in mono so I've included the original mono show (split and unspilt) as well as a stereo remaster/remix that I think sounds like absolute gangbusters.

Absolutely, Noah has become the hihat king for this era.

Also foxtrot- totally agree about We Go Back sounding like a Feels era track. In both the energy of the chorus and the ambient outro part.
