Wouldn't there have been some announcement if they planned to stream it?

I dunno, I feel like there have been plenty of instances of "x's album is now streaming!" on NPR when i've been holding out for a freebird (usually smaller, non freebird-worthy bands that i've had to rip from soundcloud)

I'll be absolutely staggered if they premiere this album on NPR.

it looks like last week npr tweeted out First Listen links a bit after midnight, early thursday morning. so if it happens, maybe they'll post their batch late tonight after midnight. (est)

Yeah I mean think about it, with chz they had that radio stream, all with unique amazing visuals. No way the boys would just whimper this record out on an npr stream, they'll have something much more creative up their sleeves if and when they decide to stream it.

^ Completely agree. They played this thing at an airport, and then released a painting app with a single, there is no way it just shows up on npr's website. That wouldn't be their style at all.

Yeah it's not going to be streamed before the second single is released. I'm expecting another surprise for the next single.

I'm trying to figure out the lyrics to Hocus Pocus. Its definitely a song about drugs. I think it might be directed towards their kids?

thanks Borchenko. also I obviously can't say this for sure since I haven't heard Hocus Pocus but I doubt it's "a song about drugs". Read some of the interviews from this cycle, the dudes say the songs are about a whole bunch of other stuff

just to add, I don't mean Hocus Pocus is a song "just about drugs". To me, the lyrics seem to discuss the political/social side of drugs. also, the song sounds very druggy (dare I say it: trippy) compared to the already-released songs.

I finally get what people have been saying with the "educational vibe". it kinda sounds like the soundtrack to a satirical anti-drug video for kids. But that's just my take.

Painting with though brings them even closer to that pop sound; almost reinventing the Beach Boys sound with the melodies of Panda Bear and Avey Tare bouncing off, and wrapping round each other from the get go.

NE:MM: the fucking Beach Boys aren't the only goddamn band in the history of music to make harmonies. GOD.

here's a hot take: maybe AC sounds like Beach Boys in some ways but doesn't sound like them in some other ways. Or maybe they sound like them sometimes, but not all the time
