It's the best bit of the album.

As for that robo voice, there are a few on other tracks and they're all great.

Totally agree. Those FX are something completely new. Get Pete in for the next AC. This stomps all over Ben Allen's future grave.

i'm sure they had a bunch of sweet planned for the website/release that we're missing out on now :( collectively listening to Hz on their site was the best.

Kinda off topic but I listened to this album last night and then fell asleep and had a crazy dream. I was walking down a staircase and halfway down, I saw a black cloaked hooded figure resembling the grim reaper and then it looked up at me and it's face was super smudged and blurry, white and demonic looking and the second I saw it's face I heard a really loud banging noise that sounded like it was coming from the wall behind my head as I was sleeping. I woke up immediately afterwards and the noise stopped. I then tried to research what happened and it's called the exploding head syndrome. It really freaked me out. so now I guess I can say that I met the grim reaper in my dream last night.

Holy shit hahaha sorry that you got scared dude but this was an awesome experience to read.

So many good parts in this album, it's almost too much to digest at once. Although it's a still a while til the official release date I highly doubt I will have worn out the album by then. I look forward to taking it in over a long time.

And yet at the same time, this album brings so much immediate pleasure. It's all right there at the surface. Come to Your Senses is incredible. I will admit the first time I heard I kept waiting for the beat to drop out in hopes that there would at least be an outro with no drums like the live versions. Eventually though I convinced myself to stop worrying about the drop and think about the song as if I had never heard any boots before. And I totally fell in love with it.

I love how the drums sound different on every song, owing to PB's diverse choice of drum breaks/samples. The whole album across the board has an amazing and diverse sound palette. From the noisy bits in the transition tracks to the warmness of Tropic of Cancer and Lonely Wanderer. And Acid Wash is just a whole other world of sound like nothing I've heard before. I never would have expected that PB could come up with another outro that'd outdo Selfish Gene.

Oh and I hear that glitch in Tropic of Cancer too. I'm cool with it if it's real, but also cool with it if it's just an upload error or something

Hey Guys! First time poster and huge fan of you guys, this page and AnCo related everything.

Wanted to have a chat about this record with people I can bounce ideas and feelings about this album off of.

First the good:
I think Mr. Noah, Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker, Boys Latin, Come to Your Senses, Tropic of Cancer, Lonely Wanderer and Princpe Real are fantastic tracks. The ones I heard at the Panda show I caught on this list are superbly put together here. Just marvelous work.

Then the indifferent:
I was never a huge fan of Sequential Circuits or Selfish Gene through the boots or live. I'm not going to comment on them because I feel I'd be biased as I just never really enjoyed them.

Now the not so good:
This version of Crosswords is horrendous. Maybe I was pampered when I saw it live, but it had the slow build up with the glowing electronics reaching the peak at the time the percussion came in and then those vocals! They completely removed the sense of adventure from the track and just kind of puts it all out there and I feel in doing so really robbed most of the magic of the song. Severely disappointing.

Jabberwocky. The track that got me really excited for this album. The vocal melody was stuck in my head for days. The percussion drop was just perfect. Even if it's released on an EP, not having it on this album is a crime as great as not having 'strawberry fields forever' on sgt. peppers.

Hope you guys don't hate me for not crying at any point of this album, I think it's pretty damn good, and Panda's live shows are always just amazing! Thanks for listening!

(p.s. I have a pretty good video of the live version of Crosswords if you want to see what I'm talking about)

after avoiding all boots, this is pretty much my first time listening to any of these songs. glad i waited and missed the hype and didn't get my hopes up (or down). i'm enjoying this a lot so far. just finished tropic of cancer, what a heartbreaker.

I jammed the album this morning right around dawn. Headphones. It took me on a journey. Sonic soundscapes. Complex melodies. Simple but interesting lyrics. When I was done, felt like I had heard one of the best albums of the 2000s.

Then I realized I had only heard the first seven songs. This album is beast after beast.

more that it's weird that my 2 favorite records of 2014 are from 2015 (i too am deeply in love with the viet cong debut)

i think this album is the best thing from ac.

as someone who listened to the boots pretty much daily, i've got my share of grips (mostly just the lack of the "OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH" from bbcm, really feel like the song's weaker without it) but it doesn't matter. pbvsgr is godlike

i've teared up before while listening to music, but lonely wanderer marks the first time i've ever cried to it

The only thing that's going to be really hard to get used to is noah not switching to the higher octave at the end of nadir.

Either way, the album is a 10. I can't think of another I've enjoyed more in the last 5 years

Come To Your Senses is the kind of song that's sadly just rare in form now. He fucking nailed it. It reminds me of early tomboy era Bullseye, I could just let it run forever

3 months is pretty standard to announce an album. I like/follow a lot of artists on domino and none of their recent albums freebirded this early. This was a fluke.

favorite songs on it so far? for me it's:

mr. noah - (been bangin that for a month though)

Crosswords - real nice song

boys latin - just bangs, like i've heard people say it does for the last 2 months. love this track.

come to your senses - ... are you mad? awesome bouncing jaunty beat. and the outro is awesome too. gonna throw this in as my 4th fave song on the album right now. This beat is so badass. this is the 90's hip hop influence. This goes so hard.

tropic of cancer - might be my favorite track on the album... seems like it should be in the Godfather soundtrack. its so godly and nice sounding. has a touch of mpp in the background if that makes sense. peaceful and zen music but haunting lyrics (wont come back cant come back). one of the best panda songs. all im gonna say about that one right now.

lonely wanderer - another beautiful slow song to follow tropic. I love how this album has a banger section then gets slow and haunting starting with the come to your senses outro. back onto the song, yeah it's gorgeous like tropic. best back to back part on the album. piano and synths are godly.

selfish gene - principle real threw this album back to faster paced tracks. Excellent song again, great beat and nice vocal melodies. more great lyrics.

Acid Wash - Great mid tempo outro for the album. Kinda ends where it started (sequential circuits). The explosion of noise at like 2:50 is something ill space out to in the future.

Really dope album. was kinda worried about this album after the ep liked it but the last two songs on it didn't live up at times. too busy. glad they got cut but felt like faces should have made it on. This album is just beautiful. Not a song I don't like. Boy's latin, Tropic, Lonely Wanderer, and come to your senses are really really great songs. Like really awesome. it flows really well too. I'll compare it to other AnCo releases in a few days/ a week when my initial hype dies down, but right now I love it... like a lot.

wow that was way longer than i thought it would be. took notes in here as i listened again. sorry if this was hard to read, i kinda just jotted stuff down quickly.
