My contrarian take is that MPP slander - or not even slander, just criticism - or not even criticism! just ambivalence - is a contrarian take. MPP is obviously their best album, obviously one of THE best albums, it’s an unimpeachable work of art, a life-changing and astonishing listen to this day, and pointing out its “flaws” or even just saying “not my cup of tea” is as bonkers as like, going to the Grand Canyon and saying “not deep enough” or “not for me.”
I really and truly wish I could feel that way about MPP.

Honeycomb, Gotham or Crimson wouldn't have made a meaningful improvement to Chz's tracklist, which doesn't need improving anyway

All 3 of those songs are astronomically better than Rosie Oh.

Definitely agree but I like chz the way it is. honeycomb/gotham works really well as a single and crimson backs applesauce nicely.
wish there was at least one 2011 boot with taste that sounded good. Crimson into taste is so great

hash idk if you're around here that much anymore but just so you know this is CRAZY. Eucalyptus is
unlistenable compared to Buoys and that's PB's weakest record by a lightyear.

Eucalyptus is significantly better than buoys imo but yea person pitch is the only pb album that i love as much if not more than down there, but down there is incredibly special to me in a lot of ways and i still love the rest of pbs discog, even buoys though admittedly i think i still need to spend some more time with it.
but can u fr tell me boat race comes anywhere close to anything on buoys

The best song on bouys (Crescendo) is a sister song to Boat Race, and would not exist without it

Not the biggest fan of how Master turned out on the album, but it sounded amazing in the initial boots. Wish it would have kept that long droning piano outro.

I agree that MPP is definitely an amazing album, but also can agree the hype surrounding it kind of ignores how good the previous 4 albums were. It's a work of art, but I honestly think I have spent much more time listening to Feels and SJ than MPP.
I think Eucalyptus is far better than Down There, and his Eucalyptus tour dates were some of the best live Avey performances I've seen. Saying PP is worse than Down There is crazy.
Person Pitch is a perfect album IMO, and few releases, AC or otherwise, can touch it.
Also, I think Rosie Oh is a banger. Why don't people like the studio version? Is it the strange instrumentation? The mix is too busy?
