If anyone's interested, I arranged a cool tracklist for all these gems from August (didn't include passerby or Walker bc they sounded kinda outta place imo).
Time Skiffs:
A. Back to Baltimore
1. Magicians from Baltimore
2. Car Keys
3. Dragonslayer
4. Soul Capturer
5. Prester John
B. Strangers
1. Gem and I
2. Stride Rite
3. Long Improv
4. We Go Back
5. Broke Zodiac
6. Royals
C. Sea of Light
1. Kings Walk
2. Defeat
3. Cherokee
4. Genie's Open

I think it sounds great!

Brilliant way to think of it.

And, per usual, hunks coming in clutch—thank you.

Wake the Town at 3p PST, of course

(yesterday's show - https://spinitron.com/KPOO/pl/14619143/Wake-The-Town)

Yoooo I listen to that show all the time. So many gems, especially all the covers. As a former college radio dj, I can give the man a lot of respect for cueing all those 45s and doing callbacks. Its WORK!
One of the perks of living in the bay is all the great radio, KPOO, KALX, KPFA, KFJC, KMEL.

It is interesting to hear how charismatic Deakin is and how easy it is for him to talk. He has always been that kind of person in interviews while the other memebers are bit more awkward and shy. Makes me wonder if he volunteered to be the one do the blast radio hosting, or if he was pretty much forced to be by the other members. Either way, glad to hear him and his insights. You can tell by how he talks now just how much more confident in himself he has become.

Does Avey say "Worldstar" at 12:00 in Defeat?

He’s like their hype man. He is so genuinely excited about the new jams and playing with his friends. Perfect for these broadcasts. He’s AC’s Flava Flav.

so I made that cover by basically collaging some abby stuff. she posted that dragon slayer cutout that was used on the promotional art for the upcoming tour, and she posted that picture of the 4 guys together from the making of the prester video. did some editing and voila!

just finished my first run-through your comp. loved the sequencing and the transitions all sounded seamless. with a little mental work i can actually *hear* this like it's a real AC album already.

That cover is SICK!!!!! Can’t wait to listen. Can you post a link to download the comp. in highest quality possible? I wanna blast it and don’t want youtube quality to get in the way! (Apologies if you’ve already posted it and I just haven’t scrolled up :D. )

Missing Kings a little bit this sequence flows so well. Thanks heaps Kids! Feel like we’ve basically got two new albums already!

Feel like Kings should go between Stride Right and Broke Zodiac, but other than that it's like the perfect way to sequence these songs imo. Soul Capturer can be a b side.

The back half of Magicians doesn't even sound like AC to me, but is a special AC moment all the same

Magicians is part Crimson, part OTH, and fully mother ducker.

I hear ya. Gotta say when I first heard these guys back in 2005 I remember finding their radio broadcasts from that 04/05 era, breezeblock, spinning on air, planet claire etc., I was seeing them live a whole bunch around that time and everything I was hearing was all very new and exciting. Since going to the Hazel Robinson show a few months back, listening to all the boots from that mini tour and now listening to these broadcasts for the past month it’s really reminding me of those early days, I’ve always kept up with what they’ve been doing throughout the years but I think this is the most excited and engaged Ive been with their music since first being turned on to them.

Thanks to everyone on here for helping to make this new era what it is.

The BBC session was a classic! Agree about this era. So much fun getting pumped for the new album and just loving all the new jams so much. Definitely most excited I’ve been since the early MPP shows.

Hey y’all, does anyone have split tracks of all the Blast Radio shows? I have the Sea of Light compilation someone made with tracks from this, but I’d also like the Time Skiffs tracks, and especially King’s Walk and Soul Capturer, which were missing in the SoL comp. Any help on this front is IMMENSELY appreciated (even if it’s the unsplit shows). Thanks!
