Only disappointment so far is Come to your Senses and the interludes. CtyS the first boot I heard off this and the drop was so perfect. I always assumed Jabberwocky didn't make the album and Crosswords was shortened because PB didn't want too many 'drops' in this thing. So I was sure that CtyS' drop was gonna make it. Oh well.

god damn it's so expansive. feels like so much. each song more than ever some level of dante's inferno. in some kinda video game world ha ha. when he uses the boys latin echoes that's his special clone-jump move

I can also say I do miss the buildup in Crosswords

I don't think I'll listen to boots again.

popadam (previously known as wazzup)
???? (previously known as faces in the crowd until ms pacman became faces in the crowd. alternately called tribe vibes or please don't go before that)
jabberwocky (previously known as heart and soul)
cosplay (previously known as make my day)

plus the new version of the preakness which may or may not have been recorded

Sorry man but that is a weak argument. How does it not make sense or not give a song more dynamics if it was left in?

the vocal performance on tropic of cancer is so operatic but intimate at the same time. the reverb works well because there's such pointed emotion it's able to really fill the space and with the sounds, it sounds so complete. it doesn't really sound like AC or the rest of his stuff to me, but it doesn't sound like anyone else either. excited to play it for my mom.

also the debussy sample blew my mind because i'm learning that piece right now.

Kiiiiinda wish the vocals on Boys Latin had less reverb, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I agree about the last "in the darkness" being really beautiful.

I know a lot of people like transitions, but I kinda like the abruptness of this album. Also, looooooove how for most songs panda's vox sound like they do live (i.e. human, vulnerable, beautiful).

thanks, is old faces in the crowd just an alt + longer version of current faces in the crowd?

okay woah, im not really familiar w/ the boots, just listened a couple of times for a 'taste', so im not comparing any of the songs to live versions. i was just suggesting a possible reason and i said it made more sense in a live performance, i guess i meant that as the purpose of live performances are to be more fun/get people to dance ('drops' being a v dance/club music centric thing)

nah, it's a completely different song that was only on the earliest boots and was usually in one track w/ jabberwocky. it's the one that goes "please don't, please don't cry, give awake another try". here's the lyrics: http://lyricalcollective.wikispaces.com ... +the+Crowd

last last section of Tropic, the syncopation reminds Over the Rainbow from Wizard of Oz.

SomeeDayy I'll Wish UPon A Star Aand Wake Up Wheree The Cloudss Are Farr BeeHind MEeeee

even though it's more of an echo in ToC it still has this same feel to me

Lonely Wanderer is so beautifully somber. Fits sooooo nicely after Tropic. I want these both played at my funeral. So so so beautiful, makes me feel blue-purple all over. :deakweep:

yeah it's incredible. i love how the Interrupting Loom of the song starts to become like scary after a while, when you're first listening. hard to keep track of how long the debussy phrase is, and the lyrics make it so you can't really tell when the phrase will end and that hammer'll drop... :negative:

except for Come to your senses. didn't expect not to die while listening to it, especially that "drop" wich isnt there. expect the unexpected indeed.

Acid Wash sounds like a triumphant ballad.
Spoiler: show
Kinda like lifting u up after ToC and Wanderer where it's about death and looking back on someone's life.

With a yell
As you've won against
The dark

great lyrics definitely will go into my "lyrics that would be good to have as a tattoo" archive

Acid Wash has some of my favourite lyrics.

"As a flame
Gives a ruin a new name

With a yell
As you've won against
The dark"

some of the initial weirdness from hearing these songs with no intro is starting to wear off - we're so used to hearing the live recordings but this is how these songs have been since they were recorded at the beginning of the year, before all the live shows, so i guess we're all wrong?

sonic said that are 3 songs recorded that he didnt played live, two of them are now Lonely Wanderer and Acid Wash, but the third one we don't know... (or maybe was just Davy Jones Locker/Shadow of the Colossus)

other live elements missing are: 50/50 sample, Apocalipse Now sample, and the THX sound

Must be a Dark Souls reference about lighting the bonfire in Anor Londo after killing Dark Sun Gwyndolin and cheering with relief. It can only be that, basically.
