i feel resurrected when I listen to cosplay. <3 like I'm floating and things are gonna be okay.
jaba is soo so so fantastic as well. I was waiting patiently for this one and noah delivered :') I feel like I interpret the lyrics differently every time, like I do with a lot of pb stuff. most the time I imagine "I like it more like so" indicating something unseen or unmentioned, a better alternative to the previous statements of what might happen. I've been focusing a lot on optimism lately and finding better alternatives and so I go down that road a lot.
another way to look at it could be more of an acceptance of things that happen. liking it more this way because we're people and life works that way and it's good. I kinda want to hear noah's explanation of that track sometime, because I might just be way off track. and v curious

So now that we have all these songs does that mean the only thing we haven't heard yet is OG Faces? I really want to hear what OG Faces in the Crowd would sound like polished up. I feel like it's greedy to ask for it after all we've been given but I can't help myself.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y4IoXWGD90 Just for reference if anyone hasn't heard it. It's the song before Jabberwocky here.

it's funny having Cosplay after Laughed for a World Filled with Fantasy...
yeah i was always amused by panda's conflicted views on marijuana lol
i don't ever wanna smoke another joint cause without it i'll be okay but i want to get so stoned and take a walk out in the light drizzle cause marijuana makes my day lol

I really think the two EP and LP tracklists are spot-on. The songs on Mr Noah and Crosswords seem more like EP-type songs to me, and the LP tracklist is constructed beautifully...also, Mr Noah and Crosswords are perfect headliners for EPs. All of the Panda albums are well-constructed, especially this one

Was Faces In The Crowd just the original working title of this track? I don't see many similarities otherwise, granted it's fuckin PHAT

The working title for G-Yeah was Faces in the Crowd, and the working title for Faces in the Crowd was Ms Pacman, hence the nickname OG Faces in the Crowd

i love cosplay so much!
a lot of people go through phases with drugs, where they go from appreciating them to resenting them and back and forth. panda's song from earlier doesn't necessarily seem hypocritical to me as much as it is representing both sides of drug use

Petek, what was it like when you witnessed Noah in the studio performing the vocals for Cosplay? Did you shed a tear? two perhaps?

Wotcher
Er .....nope ... Sorry .... The reverse ..
Noah's voice usually cracks after an hour or so - he likes to do his vox in the morening....
....so quimbo & I got a super sweet time on those daze , coming round to Noah doing his vocal
takes .....but the icing on the cake got spread when he did the backing harmony parts .....
....often off the cuff .... You can imagine hearing boys latin come together ......
The vocal parts in one of the break downs to Jabba are typical of what he'd do on the intros
or breaks in some songs to keep his voice on , or to warm up before the verse , and on the first take
he'd riff or scat , and each successive take sing a second , third or fourth part .
Noah keeps it pretty light in the studio , the only crying was laughter .....
Once his guard is down , he's very witty .....and pretty silly ....
With a pretty foul mouth .......
It was Noah - who has an hillariously tight ozzy accent - who decided his ozzy nickname would
surely be Nobbo .........ha

I have some questions for you sonique... If you don't mind...
How long does it take to layer all the little blips and clicks and squeaks and whooshes etc into the mix? How much of that is part of Noah's original vision of the song, and how much is the two of you throwing stuff around in studio, seeing what sticks? How many layers are there total in a song like No Mans Land?

I was curious about that as well. Do 'dry' mixes exist and then you add the special flavor stuff afterwards or is it all created on the spot and mixed later?

it takes a lot of work to get stuff like that .... the deetales . its easy to throw shit at walls , but making 'art' from it is sumething else ...
I'd say any writers initial vision is usually the chords on keys or guitar & a vocal .
the fleshing out is an assumed stage that will happen with most writers , but not on everything .
we recorded every weird cool sounding thing that happened & coralled them in the 'bullshit bits for the weekend' folder ........ I then used those finding perfect bits for certain places ...
carriages & attendants ..........
Noah sumtimes would send ovah extra little bits too when i was mixing ....

the bits are probably my favorite part. last 30 seconds of acid wash is like being on a mountain and staring down onto a valley down below and thinking "what if i threw this nilla wafer"

I think this is what it's all about. Finding piece with some of the quirks of living and loving that we all hopelessly buy into.
"I'm sure you've got some kind of costume on" bangs of some classic Noah insecurity--believing someone might be disingenuous with you, or only pretending around you. But he feels that this is better than everyone always being honest with one another.
Any minute now, you could fall so hard upon your knees, but that's OK, because really what is life without hardship, setbacks, and uncertainty? In the next line about shooting for the stars, he compounds this point. He welcomes challenge. 'Go for your dreams, you never know where they'll take you. Life inevitably has its low points and high points, and it's better this way.
The last line: I'm sure you've got a piece of me inside. A raw expression of love. He's content with losing parts of himself to his family and friends. The most obvious admission of all.

Noah has nailed saying so much with so little this era.
Boys Latin, Acid Wash, Tropic of Cancer, Selfish Gene, No Mans Land, Jabberwocky, Lonely Wanderer, This Side of Paradise all qualify. His finest songwriting to date

I loooove Cheap Treat. Posted this in the PBVSGR thread a while back.

I think he says "Watch it come on down, it's the end".
And then right after that, before the chorus he sings: "And the cycle starts again, bring it down."
The chorus is something like: "First let me, if you stole[?] its ability, don't act like it went away, another chance to make it clean."
"I want a [????], but only if there's no surprise x2"
That's everything I can get.

but i don't like this. i only liked the deak song on centipede. didn't like slasher flicks at all. only like 2 songs on grim reaper. (sad emoticon)
