I wonder if juice explodes ((<click it)) from the creature in the (alleged) Boys Latin video ... I mean... how could it not?

I really really hope it's released somewhere. I want it in good quality so I can make out the whole. In boots it's weak and live it's so intensely stimulating, its physical effect on your body is more exciting than trying to identify de tails

Think we'll get the Boys Latin video this week? I don't know if I'm ready

This has the drone at the end at pretty good quality, just make sure you've got good enough speakers where you can crank this up to SB status and feel the wall of noise making yr day.
Woah that's great quality! somehow missed this one. what is it? a soundboard recording or like studio produced? Sounds live but the no crowd makes me think it's soundboard output.
Been playing this song all day on my old Hammond organ.

Just a fun video of Mr. Boom lurking in the background of Jools Holland
adding some of his sonic wizardry to the Stereolab performance to distract until
Jan 2015

It is Noah's demo of the song that Pete shared with us. I think Pete said he made demos of the songs before the debut ATP performance.

Can anyone who's seen the live show explain what the appeal of Principe Real is? Every version I've heard on the boots, it just sounds boring to me. Not trying to be negative, but with so many other good songs, and chances of some being left off the album, I'm not sure why this one has stuck around so long.

not really a fan of it either. I'm saying that based on the boots... Noah didn't play it when I went to see him. maybe the studio version will surprise me. I'm sure there's a reason that it found its way onto the record.

i think it's mostly because the instrumental version in the chz broadcasts was so dope? and it was the only familiar material / known title in the first boots

PR does seem like an uncharacteristically straightforward jam for PB. Sounded great live for sure. I think the studio version's gonna be banger
I feel the same as u JohnsonNoise, I'm sure there's a reason it's on the record. It's also right before Selfish Gene/Nadir on the tracklist, so I'd say it kinda has to be good in order to stack up

The demo and the ATP versions of the song are SICK! But this "Electric Feel" version he's been playing live is a little bit of a let-down in comparison... I really hope that organ-y synth and saxaphone sample don't get pushed down in the final mix like the saxophone in "This Side of Paradise" did...

love the sitary sample! Doesn't sound like electric feel to me. . . nd . its the club jam of the century. DJ's rejoice! a PB song that's fat!

Yeah I don't know how you could not like it.. it was the highlight of the set when I went to see him
actually Principe Real followed by Nadir was the highlight of the set.. such a strong 1-2 punch

totally agree, atp version is vastly superior, hate that swirly sample, feel like it detracts from the original chords

principe is a jam/wake up sheeple. Danced so hard to that at the chicago show. Really hope the studio version is a fusion of the chz radio and new live version. boots really don't do justice to the new version, but I agree that the organs are a bit too quiet.

Geez, I love Stereolab, but their stage presence is... unimpressive. At least in this video...
I always love seeing a pro musician playing keyboard lines with two hands like like Laetitia Sadier does in this video, makes me feel better about my own hamfisted keyboard playing

I feel pretty good about it, now that I think about it. Faces In the Crowd(obvi mean new faces) DIDN'T make the album and Principe Real did... Let that sink in lol It's probably an absolute banger espesh with it's positioning
In NpkL we trust!

ugh if names are just deliberately changed like that again I will be kind of disappointed. Like panda should do whatever he wants and call whatever whatever, but my brain is still getting used to the faces in the crowd change. Plus Mr. Noah going into Ms. Pacman would've been so rad.
Does anyone else find it weird that the change from ms pacman to faces was probably a recent or last minute change seeing as how the original lyrics sb posted for the song were labeled as ms pacman, and the old faces were labeled as faces in the crowd?

I'm a little annoyed by it too, but I'm happy it resulted in a fan title as badass as OG Faces in the Crowd

Do any of the song lyrics have clear connections to their respective titles?

Tropic of Cancer definitely does.
Also the bridge in Come to Your Senses where he sings, "Baby girl, you got to come to your senses before it's too late."

Crosswords is about the time Noah spent 15 minutes trying to figure out one crossword answer (14 across: Service partner, 4 letters) , only to have some skeletal bozo in a cloak tell him it's "good". Humiliated, Noah spends the rest of the album tracking down the one who can fill those spaces -- only to discover the shocking truth.

Well this isn't really lyrics, but og faces had that sample that sounded like it was saying "faces" all warped, which is why I am still confused by the title change.
Sorry this is my last post complaining about this.

I agree with the confusion. I'm still mentally getting used to not calling it Ms. Pacman, especially considering it directly follows Mr. Noah, and yeah, OG Faces has that "faces" sample in it.
Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but one of my favorite parts of Selfish Gene/Nadir is "boy, oh boy, what a selfish gene"
