I don't understand why record companies can not adapt to modern times.
hell, in the latest aphex interview he says that warp wouldnt release anything until January if he gave them something right now. that's ridiculous.
not everyone can afford to put all their weight into pulling a Beyoncé or Radiohead with an album - as much as the current industry standard sucks it's really unrealistic to expect people to drop it immediately at a whim. a lot of (relatively) smaller artists like Noah can benefit greatly from a staggered rollout and planned release and press. it'll all pay off in the end, man! just a couple more weeks won't hurt anyone
Don't worry guys, to tide us over til January I heard Domino is gonna drop a compilation to cash in on the Christmas season...

i don't think you guys understand what it takes to press vinyl these days. it's a very long and arduous process - completely outside of the control of the record labels/artists.
putting the pressing of the LPs aside, the packaging on this record is INSANE and will take far longer than a normal LP to print/package.
my point: first everyone flips because there are no announcements. then we get an EP and news about the record and it's not coming out soon enough (because of reasons outside of everyone's control). if this is such an issue for you, start building new machines that make the records, because the US (and the rest of the world) is in very short supply.

this dude knows what's up
Vinyl for the new Thom Yorke LP was WAY understocked at launch and had to enter a second pressing within days, and that still hasn't shipped. Compared to PBvsGR that's a pretty simple package to assemble too

I didn't realize my posts were all negative. they definitely aren't but certainly not the perception I'm trying to give. my wondering about labels in this day and age reaches much further than pb. I'm not blaming domino for anything, I'm very curious these days why labels sit on albums. pressing vinyl has little to do with it as you can still have your preorders and ship vinyl later.
anyway, I won't post anymore unless I'm blindly praising something.

Dancin home from the show Reaper eve
You can say that "it's too far off", Panda
But as for me and meysell, we believe
When we found her Reaper morning
at the scene of the smack
she had PB on her forehead,
and this tat of peter kember on her back
It's just not Christmas without Panda,
All the homies : stress attack
some just can't help but wonder...
Should we open freebirds or send them back? ! SEND 'EM BACK !

Hey guys and gals. I've been lurking for a while but this is my first time posting.
This is probably not the most apropriate topic for this bit of news but here it goes.
Panda Bear has two scheduled concerts in March (11 and 12) in Portugal, the first in Lisbon and the second in Braga. Tickets are already on sale.
The website for one of the theatres he's performing in also adds that these shows will end the first part of his tour.
These are the first confirmed shows in a while right?

No worries Copo90—this is definitely relevant for this thread because it confirms that PB will be playing more shows after this album is released, which is great news!! I'm glad people will get to experience these songs live after hearing the studio versions.
I sure would love some more U.S. dates, but I probably shouldn't be so greedy since we already got two tour legs, and I even got to go a concert

He should tour the US as well, i hope everyone will get to experience the Grim Reaper live (again).
I'm definitely going to the Lisbon concert.

He was supposed to play Jabberwocky festival back in August but it was cornpilled, so yes, I believe this is his first UK date playing the Greaper material. Not to be missed
EDIT: I was incorrect, PB has played the songs in the UK one other time: ATP 2013, when he debuted the Grim Reaper material.

if i remember correctly, chz didnt "freebird" until they did the ac radio stream of it the week(?) before. if they treat this album the same way, it won't be available until they want it to.

Whoops. This is why I shouldn't answer fact-related questions. Thanks for the correction.
Although this is of course almost 2 years since that performance, and people will actually know the songs this time around.

"Applesauce" freebirded early because one of us kept the stream link that the CHz Radio site kept hiding every time there wasn't a stream going on and it turned out to be playing the song on a loop - i think it may have been Lucas who found it?

jesus, the "applesauce" freebird was so awesome..."todays supernatural" was a new kind of beast even compared to the "honeycomb/gotham" single.
"applesauce" was so playful and cute and just so freakin AVEY...i remember hearing it for the first time and thinking that THIS is exactly what i was hoping for. prior to the freebird someone who had heard the album describet it as a "chirpy avey led tune a la tikwid" and it was immediately one of the songs i was most excited about...good times.

So what do you guys think? Any chance of more U.S. dates to be revealed? I'm skeptical, since he spent many weeks touring the U.S. this year.

I don't know if there will be but you can damn be sure I will go if there is. Maybe if he does tour the US it will be mid-late year. Ya know, give him a break.
