I have a strong feeling they won't be streaming the album ahead of the release now that this is a thing.

I'm not a huge fan of this track or as single....but I do it like it. Definitely a grower. I think after many listens with it along with the album it well make a lot more sense. That 30 second jam though is really awesome, and I can just imagine it being extended when playing live. Imagine that jam 3-4 minutes longer? IMAGINE IT!!

intro is so odd and possibly offputting, but after that the song jams

i dont really get this at all. it's bouncing all over the place and, to me, sounds so original and new.

well listing abstract things that the song lacks is a really shit way to criticize something honestly

you can put a million sounds in one minute, and let them bounce and it can still sound flat.there's no depth in the song, no emotional nor composital depth. Ofcoure it's all my subjective experience of something as abstract as music, so I can't explain exactly why I can't feel the AC magic. and if there's one band that I would call magical its AC.

will write something more, with more depth later. my friends are here.

still love AC, and I'm still psyched for the record. Hope you DO feel the magic, and keep explaining why and I'll just listen to it over and over to see if I was wrong. I hope so

Man I can't get over the rhythms in Lying in the Grass, when the kick drum does the 3-over-4 is so good

the "raise the gap above a whisper" part (and also earlier w different lyrics) is so catchy, and I love the slight syncopation in the vocals there

like i said, the second half is pretty good. and especially that last 30 seconds < - that's the point where I feel the magic. I wish they started with that 30 seconds and made a song with that jam, wich could explore insane AC paths.

the lyrics for this are pretty difficult but i think i got most of them!

all the pieces where they ought to be
but it's clear that we don't look like me
pick a place around the table top
make a push to make the momentous

say you (?) to say what's wrong and make it no one to cover
there's a way to (?) as long as there's a light to discover it
like a twisted stick let's drift through the sick and find a level space
cinch to say

it's a god that feels all things unknown
and i ring within the rain, you know
that a shape to say the instincts there
but our virtue to deny the thing

know that cause and move to cause and death are (???)
in the law there's move to move as there's a need to uncover it

as a joker of suds let's drift through the mud and lift this itchy veil, same old tale

get mixed in, this crippling fixture
tryna approach the hidden mixtures
get mixed in, this crippling fixture
tryna approach the hidden picture

for a misplaced stash let's search through the trash
and write this ignorant lurch, wicked urge

raise the gap above a whisper
speak to sound a spoiling blister
raise the gap above a whisper
taught to cure a blister picture

Great job man.

Read the lyrics you peasants

I can't say I enjoy the new song on the first listen but it's clear it's far more interesting than Floridada, and that it could be a big grower, like all the best songs made by AnCo. Experimentations with sounds in CHz were pointless, here it works better and makes much more sense.

I definitely disagree, I feel like the sounds used in Centipede Hz all create a consistent and interesting atmosphere. Literally the only sound I can think of on that record that I feel iffy about is the buzzing noise on the verses of Rosie Oh, but if I'm in the right headspace even that clicks for me. I really don't understand the distaste for Hz, I think it's one of their most impressive albums... but hey, we're all in our own reality tunnels and are experiencing the Rorschach blot of the universe from different angles.

Anyways, I definitely think the tracks are growers and will be even better in the context of the album as a whole. I rarely ever listen to Anco songs on a stand-alone basis, they're all so enriched by their surroundings.
