Definitely falls under the category of songs "that don't really go anywhere" which concerns me along with that one fellows critique. I kept looking at how much time was left and praying it would evolve or morph in some tantalizing way... But a las it's new anaimal collective and who knows, it could be a grower

Listening to the full song didn't even feel like much more of an experience than the 30 second snippet of that one

Something about Lying in the Grass reminds me, aurally (especially melodically and instrumentally) of some of the songs from the Shins's Wincing the Night Away (but with a bigger beat). Just my opinion,, and to me it's a good thing.

V v into this. Kinda uses PB's Boys Latin vocal effect for the first half of the song or so. The chorus hook is sooo Panda and I love it. Really dig the jazz influence personally. Kinda has a bit of a Water Curses feel to it.

I don't think your opinion on the track is a problem with anyone, amigo! You are free to have any opinions you could ever dream of having.

The only thing that squeebed me up about the comment, personally (of course), was that you compared this song to three songs off of two albums that are just completely not in this style and said it might as well be a totally different band.

Fall back into their earlier music - or the things in between Feels, Sung Tongs, and Now and you will find many examples of this being just as much their style as any of those other tracks. They are so varied as a group that it's pretty nutso to compare one song to another - especially over such a large discography over so much time.
