i'm still scratching my head about the comment of going back to their roots.
like danse? acoustic (sung tongs, ACB, prospect?)
i don't see them going back to ear bleeding high frequencies or freer form stuff, but i could see them having an approach similar to danse of exploring a lot of different stylings.
i could see them doing so crazy good acoustic stuff
That quote was referring to Centipede HZ. They haven't openly talked about the next record yet.

If they used modular synths plus other instruments for the new album, like SMD and many other electronic acts use. Here's an example of some in action

Yeah well maybe if it was funny I would smile every time I scrolled past the giant wall of blank white space to read new replies but it's not. Don't try to act like it's some kind of interesting prediction for the upcoming album either.

fwiw: those are both great songs but use completely different techniques. boys latin is a great example of hocketing, where two voices alternate to create a single musical line. it's especially clear in live performances what's happening: the vocals on the beat are sung live, while the off beat vox are pre-recorded and triggered. good girl is just a really great slapback delay

Holy fuck! If this somehow gets released this year, 2015 could be like the greatest year in music in a long time. Now all we need is a dirty projectors and joanna newsom 2k15 announcement and it WILL be the greatest year ever. P.s. An OPN album wouldnt hurt either, but im content with the ep, so ill let it slide til 2016

It means they've recorded the sounds they need. I'm sure there's still lots of work to be done.
