2 CDs/3 LPs for 51 minutes? Something's gotta be up?

I'm really bummed and I feel really stupid, but honestly that artwork is preventing me from buying the vinyl. panda bear meets the grim reaper has such a strong sound. very vivid imagery. the art is so disconnected from the title. I'm really struggling with it.
the ep sounds soooo damn good. pretty dark in places too. love it
I agree that it is cheesy (really wish that it was similar to the art from the mixtape but colorized instead) but I like the artwork with Noah and the controller with the reaper in front of him as an alternate cover. Isn't that included with all versions? It's almost like the cover is just the wrapping paper around the real present.
The EP cover, however, is unabashedly hideous.

1 of those CDs and 1 LP is the Mr Noah EP. So, 51 mins for 2 LPs and 1 CD.

Guys guys guys. To clear up the 3 LPs things...
The first 2 LPs are the record, the third LP is the Mr Noah EP
See this pic:

roopn said he thinks the above pic is just a computer render, but it looks real to me. And it makes sense. The Mr Noah record is a 12", no?

I like the EP cover, it contrasts so well with the other Panda Bear album covers. It really stands out.

Exactly. Mr Noah is on a separate disc. 2 tracks on each side.
As for the 2 CD set

1 disc is PBVSGR and 1 disc is the Mr Noah EP

After the tenth listen (in a row or not), once you take a break and go back listen to the Ep, something happen. You don't listen to them as the studio version but as the actual song. You kind of lose that comparison, memmory of/with the boot. And you just fuckin love those tracks (at least for me)
And I think I won't listen to the boots until the album is out. Like that it will be like a blurry memmory but still here and when we re gonna be able to listen to that thing, it will be even better.

i bet the short tracks are long samples....like Shadow of the Collossus will be a long sample of dialog from that game.....
also re: literary titles, i just realized "faces in the crowd" could also be from Ezra Pound's In A Station of the Metro "the apparition of these faces in the crowd;/petals on a wet, black bough."
And Selfish Gene is also the title of a famous Dawkins book, though it's not exactly classic literature.
I guess he changed the Robert Frost title, but Panda's been readin lots o books lately i guess!

Hey does anyone have the list of tracks written on the whiteboard that Sonic posted? The ones with the highlighted names, etc., with 20 track names? The full thing isn't on his photobucket account, only the ones taken from the side.

garage just has a super long intro/outro. it could easily be cut down to about 5 minutes. but i put my money on selfish gene being nadir more than garage just cuz HOW CAN NADIR NOT BE ON IT!?! garage seemed like a pretty crucial track too. hmm

Longtime reader, first time poster. I've avoided all the boots but I'm gonna preorder based on Mr Noah.
Anyone know what brand shirt Domino prints on? I want that shirt bad but wanna make sure it fits right. Curse my medium-large torso.

Sorta disappointing to see that two of the new songs are probably just transitional, unless they're of the same standards as "College" or "Untitled (Visionnaire #52)".

you could probably fit most of the dialog from that game into 17 seconds honestly

i have faith in the sonic bear that all the tracks will be released, but it's hard to imagine this album without nadir / jabbawaqy / garage, those killed.
OG Faces in the Crowd / Popadam / Cosplay / maybe DESPERSONALIZAÇÃO or the preakness take II seem like good EP material though...

How many times have Pete and Noah (at shows) said all the tracks would be released?? C'mon guys, stop freaking out. We're gonna get every song... Nothing was "killed" or scrapped, whether it makes it on the album or not, we're going to get it in due time.

I hope Shadow of the Colossus is a 17-second spoken word bit by Noah.
"Hey guys, thanks for buying my new album, Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. And for those who pirated it, don't you have any shame? Hope you enjoy the last few tracks, and for those on CA, sorry we fucked around with the track titles."

Guys slow down! I left for an hour or two and has so many comments to read ! Wish I didn't have to play a concert tonight. Just wanna listen to this on repeat and play super smash.
so with those 2 tracks looking like they are just transitions, i'd say that it's even more likely now that we'll get another EP!

lol-ing at both this hypothetical idea and also the abbreviation "PullRub"
I'm personally hoping he releases the album as a set of midi files, leaving it up to the customer to decide on what VSTs to use

long time reader, first time poster. nadir, garage and jabberwocky will find their way onto the album or some sort of release im sure. im not scared that songs wont get released, but the overall tracklisting disappoints me to be honest.
based on the live performances, i had wished it was going to look more like this...
EP
1. popadam (no screams, i think they work better on sequential circuits)
2. untying the knot
3. butcher, baker, candlestick maker
4. this side of paradise
i think these songs would play really well off of each other and they are the ONLY cuttable tracks in my opinion. they are still all great songs and would definitely be a great warm-up/teaser.
PBVSGR
1. sequential circuits (im happy this will kick off the album. i would definitely include the 50/50 sample at the start, but i doubt that made the cut)
2. garage (imagine that beat drop being the first drums on the record!? so good!!!)
3. faces in the crowd/jabberwocky (definitely a song that needs to be on the first half of the record)
4. lonely wanderer/acid wash (whichever is the most accessible)
5. boys latin (a great banger to finish with before taking a break from the pop songs)
6. come to your senses (obvious choice for a centerpiece. great build up and climax. i cant see this song fitting anywhere else on the album)
7. tropic of cancer (this song has to follow come to your senses to continue animal collective's middle-of-the-album-one-two-punch tradition)
8. mr noah (picks up right where boys latin left off)
9. ms. pacman (a second back to back duo?! these titles were a great pair
)
10. lonely wanderer/acid wash (whichever is more relaxed)
11. principe real (sweet little treat before the big finish)
12. nadir (easily my favourite song. this song gives me chills every time and occasionally makes me shed a tear. i really wish this song finished the album complete with the sample and thx drone.)
*if davey jones' locker & shadow of the colossus really are as short as itunes claims, i would rather they were just attached to the beginning or ending of a track.
*i would leave out cosplay and the preakness.
i dont mean to complain on my first post, but i wanted to know if anyone else felt the same way. i still think the ep works super all together and im hoping our visit from the reaper will be even sweeter.

obviously we haven't heard it yet, but based on the lyrics pk gave us, i could see acid wash being a really great closer. some of those lyrics are pretty intense...

so like i dont even think im being a blindly optimistic/desperate fan when i say I think there will be another ep. couldn't this third ep be Mr Noah on one side and another on the b-side? That's sort of like a double lp tho...

yea that was me. and nah its great news. id rather AC pump out some fresh new material. really hoping for some abrasive shit juxtaposed with some soothing vocal harmonies (a la oddsac[working]- obviously i don't want an oddsac remake nor do i expect it, but you know what i mean) on this next album
