I could be wrong but I don't believe there's been much discussion or speculation about a possible EP following IIN...do you guys think there's any potential for that to happen? If so, what might be on it?

I'm hoping they might release some demos, based on the teases they posted

I really wonder because they've released 18 songs between TS and IIN. Didn't Deakin say on Blast Radio something about having 21 songs written? I could be wrong. If that's true that might mean 3 more songs could be coming...I won't hold my breath though.

"changing the name" could also just be a straightforward reference to the various artist names they used prior to being made to settle on animal collective... along with the different early combos of avey tare/panda bear/geologist releases there was also campfire songs and "the forest children" which they seem to have referred to themselves as for a spell in 2001

an ep would be sweet. idk about skiffs/iin leftovers, i do get the impression that they've given us everything there is to hear for now, but i could very easily see them wanting the next release to be a low stakes ep to wipe the slate a bit

oh yeah they basically said they're going to release the full music box recording once all the studio versions are officially out. so sometime this fall / winter is a pretty sure thing

Gem & I’s lyrics had an interesting journey. Panda’s lyrics for Car Keys and Broke Zodiac don’t seem to have changed very much, if at all, from the initial 2018/2019 versions. The pre-choruses and the line post-chorus changed here though: “I am the sun”, “This is a gun”, and “Playing the game” are all gone. With those old lines (and the faster tempo), it sounded more like a children’s tale warning about wrangling egos than a song about the band.

I bet you're going to be very surprised by all the Family Guy samples, kazoo riffs, and hip-hop interludes that permeate the album.

I did a null test comparing Soul Capturer freebird vs the official release, and there definitely was a difference between the two files. I think the official release will be slightly higher fidelity

As a freebird abstainer this is definitely the reason why I'm waiting. I need the first time to be perfect. Playing my analog AnCo album on an analog system. I can't wait to hear that vinyl spin on the 29th.

wow I've been gone for a while but tbh the Avey part of Clubs is actually pretty hard to sing... sounds like he's doing his low chest voice at "everyone's a nine to five", mid throat voice at "?barely placed in time?" which gradually decreases to his chest, and then the last part which I can't make out jumps to a falsetto. maybe I'm also mixing him up with the Panda but it really seems like he pulls out a lot of range really quickly there

does anyone know how to find out what time the listening parties are at? I checked the website for the hotel where it's happening in Seattle but couldn't find any details

That's gonna be real nice!! I wonder if the vinyl master will be noticably different from the digital too
