sound comparison: I just compared Prester John to the official single... the freebird sounds pretty good (just looking at that one song). It sounds slightly compressed compared to the digital file, a little less low end but nothing like PW freebird.
also strung with is fucked up haha but the singles out for that so it can be replaced I suppose

Just reached the Prester John familiarity island. I've been blasting this on my BT speakers (JBL) and while it's no Vinyl/headphones it's still a pretty fuckin good rip. Haven't gotten to Strung yet, but if that's the highest peak then it might be the only affected track mostly.
Not gonna spoiler talk anything, but man... Side A is strong

Preliminary listening… Panda’s voice on Car Keys is magnificent but I hate that new repeating synth sound. Wish they kept a bit of the new outro but I can see why they kept it live-only. I think they nailed Cherokee for what it’s worth. Deakin’s new harmony in the chorus is actually genius for the studio version I think. The medieval sounds throughout the album are perfect.

I think Car Keys sounds great. I love that daft synth noise. Vocals are wicked. The soaring vocal break is the best it's ever sounded. Bass line is bumping.
Fuck I actually welled up there when that soaring vocal kicked back in.

two songs in, dragonslayer and car keys are both noticeably slower than the live versions, i wonder if the record player was playing them a slower or if it's just that the live energy was making them rush a bit

doesn't have the soaring high register vocal melody but it peaks in a different way, better than Blast, much more going on. Slightly blue balled me but I really enjoyed what it actually is. That was great.
Not a single flat moment for me so far.
