probably cheaper shipping than the domino store tho i'd guess it will arrive after release date from one of these stores.
or you can wait to get it at your local store on release.

Would somebody be willing to recap which title is the official one for each track from the bootleg? Haven’t been following along there and am curious about the ordering.

I'm in Australia so I figure direct from the label is the safest option. And credit to them, everything I've ordered from domino mart has arrived really quickly. If I remember right I think I got pbvsgr, live at 930 and painting with all a little before release date

yeah, that's why i ultimately opted to pre-order from domino even tho it's likely a bit more than just buying from my local store would have been. often they get things to me a couple days early, and for a vinyl only release that might not even have any digital pre-release singles that is what i neeeeeeed.

Yea but not everyone is able to listen to music this way. I lost all of my belongings, all of my friends in a traumatic event and music is basically all I have left (besides my family). All of my records and record player are gone. So I cannot participate in this release. That really sucks and is a huge bummer.

you’ll be able to listen to a high quality vinyl rip, so i wouldn’t be too worried...
hell, MOTW was supposed to be a limited RSD release and look what came of that!

MOTW was released digitally though. But this will definitely get a vinyl rip

I'm just stoked that we're finally going back to the roots of music with good honest vaneelo, as me and my homes call it. I often press the MONO button on my stereo whenever I'm playing the music on speakers so I can hear it as the artist intended. Once again, these guy's are two steps ahead. One step, I don't need to press MONO and the second step is just I'm always guessing what's coming next. Stop over thinking things, stop analysing art and just frigging ENJOY something for once. Let the needle hit that groove, it's music time.

I genuinely like this 'no fluff, raw power' statement. I think the vinyl thing is absolute bullshit, outmoded and naff. It's like Nintendo releasing Metroid Prime 4 in 2018, but only on the Gamecube.

lol no.
it's more like nintendo releasing a game for the switch only but not playstation, xbox, or pc.

i'm gonna take a guess and say that if this never gets an official online release, then more than half of Pandas fanbase will end up listening to Homies as a download/on youtube, most probably with headphones too, i mean, that's obvious and i'm sure he's considered that.
Panda not dumb. Panda probably just wanted to create something special for fans to experience. and some fans without record players may seek one out. but yeah most will listen digitally, to a fan rip, that's my prediction.
we won't know how different the EP will sound on headphones versus speakers yet but i'm also gonna guess that it won't sound too fucking terrible. i buy some vinyl and almost exclusively collect animal collective releases but hardly listen on the medium and weirdly yes, do NOT have a record player or dedicated speakers, just doesn't rank highly on my spendings list after my shitty $30 k-mart player broke... i dunno man so many variables to this thing, it'll be interesting to say the least.
maybe the vinyl also comes with instructions on how far away to stand from the speakers and a nice drink recipe to enjoy while listening to get the Premium Homie Day experience. nahim just playin now

Sort of surprised by the backlash to the vinyl only release. It's not unheard of for labels to do physical only even nowadays
It might seem weirdly limiting, since you need a turntable to listen to it and you can't listen on the go. But that's totally not the intention as far as I can tell. Panda explained his reasoning in the article, he prefers for people to listen to it in a certain way for certain qualities to come across better. To me that's totally his prerogative...the idea that all music has to be readily available via streaming or downloads is like a universally accepted assumption nowadays but there's no reason it has to be that way. He's just trying something different, something special for fans to experience like thespectrum said
To me it's no different than stuff like Coral Orgy being live only, ODDSAC never being released as audio only, Pullhair Rubeye being released reversed, etc. It might seem antagonistic to fans because it's inconvenient but I don't see it like that at all...it's just something different. Obviously someone will rip the EP to digital so you'll still get to hear it even if you don't have a turntable, too.
Maybe some ppl are just upset because they want to hear a single and I can empathize, I wanna hear this stuff asap too, but at least we don't have to wait all that long

i get the vinyl only release thing in the beginning. no fuckin way there won't be a digital version eventually
my prob w the vinyl only thing (goes into neil young's pono and all that shit) is that most of us don't have big speaker systems and if we do they're probably not so amazing that we're really gonna hear the difference. having a super nice preamp must be nice and all but that belongs to a select few. i have a record player but the speakers kinda suck so ideally id listen to this in my car but theres no record player there!
if panda is so hell bent on "power" then we better see some listening parties pop up. ive never been to one but i'd go for this

I genuinely just think it's a bit of a cringeworthy statement to only release on vinyl. Special edition, yeah. Limited early release, yeah. But no matter how much he wants to be an underground dance producer, he's not. He's ridden a wave of indie music in the 2000s, grew in confidence playing on Dave's amazing songs and eventually released his own amazing music, which he's still known for, and then some good music. He was on the last Daft Punk album. It's like Seinfeld going back to stand up.
