Living in Australia means I have had very few opportunities to see AC live (4 times).

The idea of a piss break is sacrilegious.

I would probably piss on myself before stepping away from a live show by any band I like. Not bragging

But here's one: I'm so desperate for any and all AC related music to exist that I am nearly incapable of critiquing or criticizing any of it because I am so deeply happy that any and all of it exists at all. This essentially makes me a vaguely toxic "simp" fanboy at times.

BUT. I will say a lot of Reset is a lil mid to me. And like yet I also like it so much for what it is, that taking time to say that feels wrong. But like as far as a panda solo goes it's a little light? This is accentuated by weird fact that his features in the past year esp feel a little more substantial sometimes.

Also Cows has issues for me and I think pushes the band more towards a traditional vibe and instrumentation than I guess I hope they ever go? And 7s fixes this somehow by just moving a few degrees away from that mixing/instrumentation style. Good Side is Coldplay at the end. And I like it but. And Mayan um. It took an L yal let's be real. I was completely in love with the og Mayan and I feel like he really butched it up to where I don't even recognize the sweet boy I fell in love with initially

Um and studio Cherokee is pretty perfect to me but I do kinda miss whatever they were doing in 19. I do not miss the passerby melodic shifts in the opening verses but I do want a studio version of "I'm a passerby... You can read the bottle guy" in fever Ray processing a good bit.

Ok there I did it. Oh but most of this isn't contrarian, just the reset thing since I don't see much critique of it and it's his second highest one on rym after pp because people be liking samples.

So I did it wrong. I like tay tees a lot better even tho it's mostly "wrong"

Just piss before the show yal. If you have a prostate issue tho, no shame and ignore

Hmm just when I finally got a signature, dio mentions his prostate. Unfortunate but I'll accept it.

I will admit the brosport piss was unfortunate and I did run but visiting friends was more or less planned. Soz.

Importantly though, I know there are some lurkers out there who agree with some of the shit ol tasty G said so come on. Show yourselves. You KNOW Sleep Cycle is an EP and you're all lying to each other about it.

Ya hah that's right. I hate feels. And that cover sucks ass. I did my senior project on Henry darger because of feels and several adults in 2010 probably think I have serious issues. I have not unpacked this and I never will. fuck feels. Ha hell ya come at me

i’ll admit it was poor planning on my part. i downed a tall can during spirit of the beehive’s set. if i had known what i know now, i would have held out til the end of cherokee because they played in the flowers right after

^Which brings me to my take: the Skiffs era In the Flowers is easily the worst older era song rework they've ever done, the low point of those tours (which I generally otherwise think were very very exciting and good).

yeh, i kinda agree. a bunch of the others were slower or whatever but had this really nice atmosphere (e.g. wide eyed) but in the flowers just lost its spark a bit.

Yeah, my show had a great setlist (greek theater in LA) but I would have preferred if in the flowers, no more runnin, and/or (maybe this one is my hot take) unsolved mysteries were swapped out for one of the IIN? songs

i didn't dislike skiffs in the flowers but it did basically just sound like a local band doing a decent cover of the studio version

actually i would say the same about the '22 bluish performances

Nah Bluish 22 sounds fucking beautiful. The outro bit actually sounds better than studio. Maybe I'm biased because I saw it outside in the rain. But AC is meant to be listened to outside. Same reason I think Asheville 22? I think is one of their best shows

You can read the bottle guy is one of the funniest/most poignant lines they've written. Coupled with I wouldn't miss a moments bliss being one of their most wistful or special you gotta miss some of passerbys old lyrics.

No idea why they kept it in the set. Felt like even they didn't want to be playing it towards the end of the tour.

This be my take. It was great in the beginning but by 23 I don't really get why it was still there... especially since they got rid of Fickle Cycle which WHY

I feel exactly the same. I am not very critical of AC, like, ever... but Reset is really lacking. It sounds like a little plastic wind-up toy. The only song I feel really attached to is Gettin to the Point; it quite literally gets to the point. I also like Edge of the Edge a lot, but it's one of several songs that overstay their welcome. That song, Go On, Danger, and Everything's Been Leading To This could all have a minute or more shaved off of them. Go On in particular is irritatingly repetitive. Noah and Pete both love droning, so it's not shocking that these songs are simple and repetitive, but it's just not very compelling. I think Reset is a great showcase of how PB can effortlessly come up with catchy vocal melodies over any instrumental you throw at him, but for the most part it just feels like AI-generated solo PB music.

yeah basically this... edge of the edge is so unbelievably catchy and danger is a great panda track but i havent really revisited it since it came out. seeing it live was really nice, need to see if any quality boots came up. i think AC in general thrive when they follow their jammier instincts bc the live transitions gave the light RESET material some juxtaposition and heft. they really droned out on some of them, it sounded incredible

my partner said that it's all major chords in a I V chord progression aside from danger and it ruined my enjoyment a little lol, i want to hear noah making shit like friendship bracelet again. very excited for sinister grift based on what i've heard from his new unreleased stuff

i live in a cozy fantasy land where reset is actually just a one off single of Living in the After b/w Danger and it's really nice in here must say
