Yea I also remember another interview where Josh talked about it being difficult recording CHZ because Ben had so much more control than Rusty or Scott ever did.
Just saying I think Josh is the one with the most studio experience so it isn't far-fetched to think he would contribute to the recording aspect and just not write or tour with the band.

I really hoped it would be common knowledge by now that AC have acted as the producers for all of their albums before 2009, and ODDSAC... Merriweather and CHz were co-produced between them and Ben Allen.

I want them to do something as abstract and mesmerizing as Here Comes the Indian. Probably not going to happen though.

I'm hoping they do something they didn't do before like they usually do.

Yeah, it's just exciting knowing that they have the potential to make something truly groundbreaking if they choose to do so.

Man where can the sonic landscape go?! Seems like they already did all of them hence why they had to go to outerspace for CHZ. Im feeling theres going to be some good vibes on this record.

They could go to a restaurant. Get that restaurant vibe. I would like to hear a set of songs that remind me of good customer service and filling up on free bread.

If they had to go back and explore the sounds from one of their ealier albums again which era would you guys choose? Personally I'd have to say Feels. There's just so much more that they could do with that type of electronic-acoustic style.

Maybe you mean electric because there are virtually no electronics on Feels.
I'd favour a return to HCTI style expansive experimentation. A record which contains both Slippi and Infant Dressing Table has an awful lot of room for further exploration.

I mean there are Roland samplers on Feels just like there are on SJ or merriweather. I'd say that counts as electronics. and there are both electronic and acoustic drums on banshee beat

Isn't every AC record electronic in some sense?
They're always messing around with something
