Had a terrible couple of days. Severe storms rolled through, took down trees, damaged the house, water got in, no power for days and worst of all scared my kids so bad they’re having trouble getting over it. Got my phone backed charged up and seeing this little number was a great pick me up. Hell of a jam excited for the record perfect summer positive vibes. Thanks for the jams and vibes Pete and Noah can’t wait to hear the rest

Amazing . A great big CONGRATULATIONS .... U did it ! we we're just rooting : ) So nice to read..
I believe most behaviour is learned . That we can't change ...
But how we live , and how we interact with others . What we seek to aspire too & how that affects our mental wellness ..and by default , the wellness of those around us . That can change . Sometimes , even be fixed ....
So proud of you xp
fixed, yes. re-membered, too. music inspired by the muses tends to attend to the soul, as orpheus and eurydice suggests, as does my new vocation of psyche+therapia... literally, caring for the soul.
so much love to y'all. thanks for scratching my back (my ears?) so that I can better scratch those of many others

yes, thanks for speaking that out loud. i think we all echo these sentiments... this has been such an enriching and positive experience, and i'd say a Rare experience too, to have a beloved artist connect to us on this level and be so generous and illuminating when sharing words on this forum. it's felt like a very special gift.
thank you Pete, for sharing not just artistic details, but life perspectives and positive energy with us -- i've learned a thing or two about life through your messages on here, i'm grateful for that. you're a bright spirit, a flash of colour on a solid foundation, and it's been beautiful to witness your passion for life and your art along with the rest of us. what a treat! much love.
and thanks lhtd, evan and others for sharing inspiring little life moments with us. i love hearing how art is connecting with people's lives and experiences

Reading some of these posts to my friend and my brother has been a total highlight for me... And it's seriously been nothing but sustenance for my own musical journey.
I've listened to Go On about 50 times now and it still hasn't work out. A track hasn't had magic to my ears like this in a while. Gonna be blasting this album for a looooong time. Seriously though, thanks for all of the posts Pete. They've been making my whole summer, and churning quite a lot of new avenues in my brain
First taste of the last track! ...sounds great, I wish I could go to the RESET party in Lisbon

It’s 21st century psychedelic soul pop. It’s like a blue sky through a 2000s sedan interior POV

imo it's
vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.

One question, Mr. Boom --
What's that analog synth in the beginning? a mind melter, as soon as I heard that I knew i was in for a treat. It is the dirtiest, crispiest wonk i've had the pleasure to listen to. even my pals who listen to like only normie top 40 stuff backstreet boys were loving it now I got them hooked

Those harmonizers are so cool. They threw that on the snare for about 4 David Bowie albums. I found a BOSS RPS 10 pitch shifter delay box cheap a few years back to try and tried to see if it could do similar things but it’s got a lot of unpredictability which some would argue is a good thing. It’s crazy how much different noise a device itself can make when you start to mess with feedback and time.
Thanks for letting us peer behind the curtain a little.

Yeah , they were used a lot in high end productions in early 80's . Eddie Grant's Electric Avenue is one of our touchstones .Grace Jones "living my Life" LP too....
.... That's what gave me the initial spark , and I knew from messing w the 910 that it had unique juice & I recognised it's voice .
All the crazy electro surges on Sonic Boom All Things Being Equal is that 910 guy too ....Like on "thing's Like this (A little bit deeper) . which has a great video by James Siewert who did "go On" video.
We're getting tech-y here . But Eventide used their own custom chips . Nothing sounds quite like it or has it's distinct personality . Under many applications . I'm always looking for the Goldilocks zone in any equipment . That special thing that makes the hairs on my neck stand up .... And this was done using the plug in version . Low impact ; ) xx

Those Eventide harmonizers can get it. The H3000 and H910 are some of my favorite tools to fuck around with ever... Eventide Harmonizers are so amazing. Feel like they've been used all around the AC-sphere. Cant wait to hear what else you've come up with it. Awesome to hear you guys used the Plug In too.

hope this isn't a rude question, but is the low frame rate a deliberate choice in the video for Go On? I kind of fixate on it and it fucks with my eyes a bit. Noticed the same thing in the bridge to quiet video too, though that's a different animator

Ofcourse . no sweat .
James Siewert explains it on the Youtube comments on the video , but short form is with animation , the more frames the more time the more rendering the more cost . Funny , cos aesthetically , I think it looks awesome . Never even crossed my mind .

the slower framerate gives it almost a stop-motion vibe, or at least some implication the machinery is real and being photographed. clever use of resources, kind of like the bridge to quiet video which is still a banger
That preview, wow, whatever this album is is scratching an itch for a type of music I’ve always felt was possible but have never been able to find. It’s like bright afternoon sun is shining right onto the composition, and the drop shadow behind only serves to further illuminate the shape of it all

thanks for the answer sb. I see how it works on an aesthetic level like tobinge says above. just took a couple viewings to stop being distracted by the frame rate. pretty trippy to see through that x

Want to second the major praise for the short release announcement. Time Skiffs was a major bummer of a wait, the way you teased us on this album followed by a 1 month early press push was absolutely perfect. Cannot wait for this album to take over the rest of my summer.
