Yeah it's kind of a snappy thing to say, but I want to make it clear that setting a bar of expectation based upon previous album sales is just completely nonsensical.

Even just to worry about the album sales in general is nonsensical ..... haha ... If people wanna get hyped on a popularity contest .. look at how many of their shows sold out so quick! The Chicago show was sold out in like 3 fckin' hours ... Chicago! I understand we do have many AC fans tho,but my point is that its a hip hop /pop city musically ..these days.. or shitty mental dominates around here too.

Concord Music Hall is super small compared to The Riv, where they played last time. You don't think the scene in Chicago is diverse? It seems like everything is well represented here

Yea I would say that Chicago has a pretty wide range of musical acts that come through. There's a ton of small and medium sized venues that cater to smaller rock, electronic, jazz, blues, country and hip hop artists

Also although concord is a smaller venue than the last one they played in Chicago, it's comparable to the metro where they played right after MPP's release. The hype was pretty great back then, but I don't recall that show selling out very quickly. These days, a whole lot of people still care about Animal Collective these days, so it's possible this could be their biggest, most well received release yet.

No, i do believe its pretty diverse ..i mean, i failed to mention the EDM scene too..which its pretty huge... but im not referring to the artists that pass through here... I'm referring to the people that live here.. Of course a wide variety of music acts come to Chicago

Although, i would have loved if they booked it at the Argon Ballroom .... beggars can't be choosers tho ..id fucking see them in a alley if i had too LMAO

The Aragon Ballroom sounds like a washed out tinny mess. I would be super disappointed if they ever played there.

Cool, glad to hear you like the venue, I was a little worried because I haven't heard any impressions at all from people about Concord.

Its hard to not imagine them doing a similar setup to MPP, with all of them on samplers...

I wonder what the art/visuals of the stage show will be like..I hope the really run with the paint theme....

Ya I've seen many shows there!! We are going to have a badass time ! I personal would rather see an artist at a smaller venue then a place like allstate or United center... but anyways.. yes Concord Hall is beautiful.

Would be cool if they all dressed up in painting overalls. They were dressed in overalls when I saw them during the Hertz tour.

Love that clip. It would be really interesting if one or more of the dudes had a laptop onstage this tour. I remember PB saying in some interview last year that he doesn't like using one onstage or something.

I guess it's possible he's just transfering files/samples from a computer to a sampler. like roopn said he's got his Greaper setup there with the mixer, OP-1, maybe an octatrack we can't see
